The Urethane Transmission Mount is Back!
After many delays, we've finally teamed up with a new fabricator to bring forward the urethane transmission mount for the 350Z and G35
From the factory, Nissan provides you with a traditional rubber filled transmission mount. It's designed primarily to be soft and thus indirect. The problem is because it's soft, the shifter has a vague, often inconsistent feel to it. Over time, this gets worse, as the rubber begins to degrade with heat, and exposure to the elements. Ever try to downshift before that sweeping turn only to find yourself having to double clutch? It's not your synchro's or transmission, it's the slop caused by the factory mount. http://z1auto.com/images/z1transmount350zg35.jpg Note: production mounts are black anodized Enter the urethane mount. These units feature a lightweight T60601 cnc'd aluminum casing, and 75A durometer urethane mount, all preinstalled and ready to go. The 75A is for you more sporting types - those who do some street/strip work, or who auto-x, and who want crisp, consistent shifts, without resorting to a solid mount. There is increased NVH, but shifting is significantly more precise. There are no other durometer ratings offered, just 75A. Installation is very simply, and takes about an hour. What are the stock engine mount bushings made out of? Isn't it the same rubber you're saying this here shiny tranny mount replaces?
in addition, the engine mount rubber encompasses the whole mount, where the transmission mount does not - here you can see daylight around the outer portion of the transmission mount. This, combined with the soft rubber = movement, = sloppiness. The urethane transmission mount cures this, and shifting is immediately more precise and exact. http://cornerbalance.files.wordpress...12009-0301.jpg |

I've been eyeballing this for sometime and have tried figuring out what the hell it actually does, I read the review but I'm still a bit puzzled. Do you just feel like it goes into gear better? I've done motormounts on my last car and it felt like more power was going to the wheels vice the chasis, is there some kind of feeling like this?

I could feel the difference immediately after I installed these. I have a 60a I got off a member when Z1 was out of them, I wanted a 75a.
|
glad you like it
the 75A was ultimately the most popular, so that's all that is offered now. Same durometer as I use in my car, which is the best ultimate balance between street/race |

I could be interested in this. I just installed the Momentum solid trans mount and I can't stand it. The entire car vibrates and rattles inside and feels like open headers. Also the chatter from my ACT flywheel now sounds like it's inside the car with me as opposed to a light chatter only audible from the outside.
Would this be the happy medium I'm searching for? |
A solid mount is bound to be nasty in this location and only appropriate for a full race car.
|
So what's the price for your mount shipped to L3S2X7 in Toronto, Canada? And how could I order?
