**** The BEST Welds in the Industry - TWM Performance ****

Hi everyone,

We often get questions asking us “why should I purchase TWM Performance products over the competition?” So we’d thought we’d do a multi-piece segment on the special and unique features we include in EVERY Short Shifter to assure that our clients are getting the BEST product money can buy!

In this thread, we will be highlighting how our multi-piece design Short Shifters are superior to the competition.

In essence, OEM shifters are made of two parts; a steel rod and a round pivot. When fusing these two pieces together, the OEM manufacturer as well as the competition, use a press fit to fix the center pivot onto the shifter shaft. This method does work, but bear in mind that the center pivot is where all of the stress accumulates when shifting aggressively. All this stress at this one point leads to a problem; press-fitted center pivots are known to run the risk of rotating or moving on the shaft over time. Obviously, this is something you don’t want.

Since TWM Performance has been in the industry of making short shifters for over 10 years, this press fitted center pivot is a problem that we had encountered early on. Therefore we decided to use what has now proven to be the strongest method of securing the center pivot to the shaft; TIG weld the unit into one piece.

In the picture above, it is easy to spot the difference between the two fastening methods. Not only is the TWM Performance center pivot press-fitted to the shaft, but we went above and beyond by TIG-welding the pivot to ensure the ultimate durability and completely eliminate the risk of a moving center pivot. As with all TWM Performance products, our TIG welds are the strongest and best looking welds found in any shifter on the market today.

This is an IMPORTANT detail! With TWM Performance, you know you’re getting the BEST part available for your car. We stop at nothing to bring you guys the highest level of quality and satisfaction!
