The Useless East Canada thread!
Weighed my car today.
Track wheels and tries and OEM passenger seat were in the car. Ive already subtracted my weight and what was in the gas tank.
Drumroll.......
2880lbs! Based on a stock weight of 3247lbs, that's over 350lbs out of the car.
With the passenger seat out, this brings me down to around 2835. I classed my car for CASC as 2820, so Im right where I want to be.
However...
I have a free point to use, and I can use it to drop below 2820. All the way to 2700 dry in fact. Is it possible, to lose another 100lbs out of this thing?
hmmm. Rear hatch, fenders, rear shelf, headlights, door panels, glass..... Only problem is I need most of those to run street class in CSCS.
Or do I just try and drop another 15lbs and get right to the 2820 mark. Actually, more like 25lbs since my splitter wasn't on. The AC is still to come out, which will be nearly it right there.

And hi Derek. I am from London as well.
You could always join the London Auto Club forum too.
Between this site and that site I've got my car events covered.

Somewhat dumb question.
If I am going in for a re-tune after installing some test pipes, do I need to burn off all the old gas that has had stabilizer in it all winter? I guess I could always drive off some of it and then fill up with fresh 94.
Not like we are talking huge power here.

It all adds up! Found another 4lbs a few mins ago haha.
No idea on the tune, I would guess a fresh tank would be good regardless but I have no idea whats in that stabilizer stuff.

I'm thinking about taking an angle grinder with a cutting blade and removing the metal shelf that contained the speakers and glove boxes.
Unsure if that will affect rigidity or safety?
I've definitely seen people do it, and I've heard it's over 30 pounds.

I started to, and will continue some day (theres a ton of spot welds).
Im sure it adds SOME rigidity to the car, but I doubt much based on its location, and definitely not worth its weight. If really concerned Id rather have an aluminum brace go across that would weigh less and do a better job.
IMO its a cosmetic piece they put in because the G35 design left it open.

Hi, we are cyllinder 1, 2, 3, 5, 6. we are a little over 2 years old and we are kinda white and chalky.
I am cyllinder 4 and I am coated in oil and black crud,
How do we fix this?
heard something about replacing gasket and valve covers.

I suppose I am due to pull my plugs. Just topped 100k on the motor.
Another pair of aerocatches came in the mail. Going to do a quick release on the front bumper. Figure there's really only 2 bolts holding it on as it is. Having the front end come off in 30 seconds sounds awesome!

IMO Looks like #4 plug has a valve guide leaking or could be piston rings. If oil was on the outside it would be the gasket.
Maybe time for new larger cams springs and fresh guides for more pwr.
