Can't seem to get a good read....

Hey fellas,

Once again I am posting on this site with another stupid question! haha. I just did an oil change on my Z. But for the life of me I can't seem to get a consistent read from my dip stick in regards to how much oil is in my engine. I have put 5 quarts in as of right now, but I'm not totally sure if she needs more. When you guys do changes on your Zs, how much oil do you usually put in? Is 5 quarts enough? Too much?

Cheers.

Don't put in anymore. Our Zs hold 5 quarts (DE engine) with filter change. Are you checking your engine with the engine cold, or at least 15 minutes after you've parked it?

the dipstick on the vq is horrible!

If you had the car started, it hard to get a good read at all. I've never been able to. I usually check mine in the garage first thing in the morning where everything is all settled and what not...

really you have 5 qts its good. Just check it when it cools down in an hour.

Thanks guys.

I figured with 5 quarts I was good. But I wanted to make sure.

Takes in 4.5L. (around 4.75 quart).

Best way to check is to let the car sit for a while after starting (at LEAST 15 minutes). Then you'll get your reading.
