i would guess lightweight breaks like titaniumm rotors would make a noticeable difference in acceleration since it's rotational mass, but they're soo expensive
how loud do you guys think the car is gonna get? it would be sick if it had all that power and didn't sound like it i love sleepers

well, the engine will be a lot stronger, which means theres plenty of room for our friend nitrous. but without nitrous and those aggressive cams and high flow heads, atleast 330-350 whp.

Well, since you also include the Nismo crankshaft which really isn't needed, because you only have Spec 1 cams, you might as well drop it or go for Spec 2 cams instead. Otherwise you'll not able to utilise all of the rpm at your disposal since your redline has just been raised to 8500RPM. And you might want to change the rod bolts to ones which can withstand it, I think the nismo ones have a limit of 7400RPM. And the Pauter rods are mostly built for FI applications from what I've see, you might want to get some lighter ones for NA.

I was talking to Nissan Motorsports yesterday, and inquired with them them about the Nismo heads.The heads set includes 2 bare heads w/46cc combustion cambers , 24 titanium valve, springs, retainers. valve caps. Required a little finishing machining and produced a 12.6 to 1 compression. You would need a good tuner or a stand alone and reuse your old keepers. As well they said it would accept any cam.
This would be interesting to see on a the car.

You are VERY correct over there.... with spec 1 cam, there is no way that you are still producing useable power at even over 7.4K rpm... I guess spec 2 cam might be able to help out a little at the higher rpm.... Also to the rod bolts..... we are still finding it VERY hard to get the tightening torque spec for those Nismo VQ35 Rod Bolts as the Nismo Japan website suggested that the tightening torque is different from the OEM and the torque spec is not provuded anywhere on the packaging at all... But I rang up Jason at Performance yesterday (in the States) and he found out that the torque spec is the same as the stock from Nismo North America.... so which one should I go for? I am finding it VERY hard to find the information.... any idea where can I dig more info out? Anyone?
I guess that's just the hard way to build a N/A motor.... always need more information....

Motec is on and running fine, we can use motec is control the standard VTC to turn those cams as well.... engine is out yesterday and we are putting in internal parts already.... waiting to find out more about the torque spec now.

By the way, have you considered getting ITBs. Since your car is probably one of the most modifed N/A 350z, I think it would benifit a lot out of it. And you already have Motec ECU so it's not like you have to spend extra money just for it.

Update to the Con-Rod bolt torque spec (for those people who might want to use that)..... the Nismo con-rod bolts tightening torque will be the same as stock, this has been confirmed by Nismo North America and also my source from Japan (just somehow nismo japanese website provided the wrong information!).
About the ITB, I would love those, same as my euro 3.2L m3, love the sound and the power.... was speaking about it with another of my mech. and he said that the price will be around 3-5K AUD to make that up (5 units+) with short trumpets (in CF) and the air box.... but the thing is.... I will need to go for the traditional throttle wire... which might not be as responsive as the drive-by-wire.... and also of course... a lot of money will need to be put into the R&D...
I will see how it goes as the current mech is going to see if there is any way to increase the compression ratio without changing the pistons now while the engine is apart... because he said that after reading the motec input, our engine has a lot of room for improvement on that and 10.3:1 seems to be very low... will update you guys soon on that as I will be around the workshop area tomorrow, so I will drop by to take some engine out photos!

I guess if they would try to market the system in USA like APS does with their twin turbo kit the cost might come down for the ITB. I would be interested in it, but not for another year or more, at least not until my cars warrany runs out. but it makes me wonder if it would be possible to retrofit the stock nissan 350z throttle body to control the ITBs. I've done few searches and that's what other people do to control them. Problem is, it would require a lot of engineering behind it. If they could sell it for AU$3000 that would be around US$2280, I'm sure there would have to be some interest in USA considering there are quiet few N/A projects happening now.
