The lady's new shoes...Ferodo DS2500

Any nice lady needs nice shoes, right?

Switched out the touring's OEM pads with the Ferodos last week (Andie at Cobalt Friction), and while I'm not an experienced racer and haven't taken her to the track yet, I must say I'm pleased so far.

Now, with no measurement tools, I can only provide "feel" differences. I get more pedal feel with the Ferodos, and from 40-0, it's about a car length faster stop than the stock pads. Looking forward to doing a head-to-head test with another Z soon. Dust build-up 2 pays post-wash is visible but not nearly to the degree of the stock pads.

The only concern I have is the feel at the end of the stop. They seem to "catch" quickly...it's not a grind, it doesn't pulse, it just feels rough.

You are going to spoil Brigette, I guess Andie founf the sizes for the back or did you just change the front ones?

You should have come out to the AutoX this weekend and tried them out then!

I am a bit disappointed that I didn't make it down to AutoX this weekend. I'm concerned about the helmet, though, given my height, I don't think I can drive with a helmet on in the car.

I changed all the brakes-- at least I think I did...

Cool, I am thinking about doing a first stage type upgrade, my name for it, with new pads, brake lines and fluid.

Next time we get together I'll let you try out my helmet, GCINFL (gary) did it and he is taller than me, I am not sure how tall but he did OK. Although you have to remember to remove helmet if you need emergency exit through window because helmet barely fits.

I am hooked on the autox and I am trying to find out more about the different venues around so we can go.

please post if you find some s steel brake lines. Do you have to double tap your brake peddle to get them to bite? I have found at high speeds when I first brake the peddle goes 1/3 the way to the floor. When I tap and depress again, the peddle is instantly resistant. I assume new lines would help with this?

Bleeding the brakes should resolve this. Take it to the dealer and explain the problem. They should fix it at no cost.
