New dyno numbers for REV-UP motor

My mods I have are JWT intake, Crawford plenum, Crawford headers, Topspeed testpipes, Borla exhaust. I had the Crawford cats on, but swapped them to testpipes to see how far I could push this engine without anykind of tune. I didn't do the A/F ratios, but now wish that I did just to see if the testpipes helped lean it out some. I know that someone will come on here and say the dyno is messed up and the numbers are bullsh!t, but I really dont care if you think that. The runs were all done on the same dyno and this is what I am going by. The numers are SAE corrected on a Dynojet.

Green = stock
Red = JWT, plenun, headers, highflow cats, exhaust
Blue = Mods listed in paragraph (swapped highflows for testpipes)

The rev-up motor is proving to be a little stronger and better suited to mods. Congrats on the numbers.

GET SOME TOMEI CAMS!! You may have the chance to be into the high 290's... Also utec would be a great investment.

D350Z10 01-10-2006 05:33 PM

Wow those are great numbers!!! 282 for those mods :icon11:

mahont 01-10-2006 05:46 PM

Damn ... looks like the test pipes really opened everything up.

Zilvia 01-10-2006 05:52 PM

mmmmmmm.....yeah few more tunes twiches and parts you might hight the 290s maybe even 300

Diesel350 01-10-2006 05:55 PM

Man you need the UTEC and tune that sucker for 300rwhp. Your just within reach
You have a pretty strong car to begin with dynoing stock at 255. Mine stock was 234 stock.

Will Pwr 01-10-2006 06:00 PM

very impressive.....actually im impressed with the 255 base line of your revup too :D

thawk408 01-10-2006 06:08 PM

Thanks for all the comments guys. Eventually I will get the UTEC or Emanage Ultimate and try to get over 290rwhp. 300rwhp would be nice, but that is kinda a big jump from 282rwhp. The baseline was a big shocker to me and also to the STI with exhaust that I ran with:). I love the power the testpipes gave me over the highflows, but the rasp is killing me and I have to do something about it.

Diesel350 01-10-2006 06:09 PM

Oh I forgot to ask you, How does the car sound now with the test pipes?

Loud and raspy. I need some resonators bad. I want some resonators just to take care of the rasp because I can live with it being alittle louder.

Nice numbers!

If I was you I'd swap the JWT for a CAI, get a full set of pullies, a grounding kit, a nice set of cams with springs and retainers, then do your engine management... You'll definately have over 300rwhp.

yeperra 01-10-2006 06:41 PM

These numbers look really good. I got 280rwhp with Nismo cat back, Nismo CIA and a Unichip. We did add a little gas to make the mixture 12.8. It was lean above 4k rpm's. Thanks for posting this because most people don't believe the numbers posted with the rev-up motors. Great job!

That's great. +9whp & +7.5 wtq. I like it!! Nice #'s thawk :thumbup2:

Wow those are great numbers! I would love to go with test pipes as well but I think the raspiness would kill me as I commute almost a 100 miles a day through Socal traffic. I may be considering resonated test pipes but we'll see. Ill be dynoing my car soon as well as I have got some new mods done but congrats on those numbers!

Go with the resonated ones and no worries. All that will happen is your exhaust will get deeper and a little louder. And oh yah, more power, heh.

I would deffinately recommend resonated. Mine are non-resonated and the rasp is driving me crazy. I might have a muffler shop put some resonators on it, or just sell them for some resonated ones.

I was REAL suprised that I gained that much over the highflows. I was expecting 4-5 max. I hope the dyno wasnt messed up.:icon17:

Does anyone know if the resonators would hurt power at all over non-resonated?

I know the resonated Tpipes won't hurt it at all.
