What's that noise?! Broken throttle body???
guys,
I had my throttle body removed last night just to clean all the greasy oil out... and I noticed that when I moved the throttle body side ways, I could hear something is rolling inside (not exactly rolling, but going from one side to the other when I moved it around)... is that normaly? I double checked that the throttle plate was tightly secured and it seems to be in the electronic throttle housing though... Normal??? The reason I asked was that I always have the engine surge at around 1600rpm and 2100rpm at light throttle and before I put the throttle back last night, there was no more noise even when I shaked it for a bit... and the throttle went well and smooth without any surge... but this morning, I got the engine surge back again and I decided to remove the throttle again this arvo just to check it out... and when I moved the throttle out, I could easily hear that something was rolling inside again... So anyone actually notice that "something is rolling side ways" in the throttle body? Thanx cheers, richie |
errrrmmm... anyone? thanx...
cheers, richie |
yes the throttle body makes a noise if you rotate it -
it's from the magnet inside of it - it's normal |
it is prolly just side to side slop in the gears that operate the throttle plate. i have drilled out the rivets before to check everything out in there and that is prolly all you are hearing.
