Need info on MAJOR power producing VQ35's
Hello, I'm new here. As you can see from my sig, I have a few Zcars. I'm interested in building a 240Z for pro import drag racing. I would like to use Nissans latest bullet, the VQ35. I would like to compete in the Street tire classes. Realize that the fastest car is a Supra making close to or more than 1000hp. It has run high 8 sec quarter mile times. My 240Z's weigh under 2300lbs. I will have to ADD weight to make the weight minimum(2700lbs w/driver).
Can the VQ35 be built to withstand twin turbo's and 1000+HP? I know rods and pistons are a must. My concern is the open deck design. Can anyone point me to information regarding max effort VQ35's? I have built 500+hp cars before. My Turbo 240Z is getting a stroker 3L inline six, and a huge single turbo. |
How do you close a deck? Bore out the cylinder wall and get titanium sleeves? Can you explain it VQracer, thanks.

age issues
NIRA, IHRA, NHRA, etc.. have all started to impliment age limits on cars entered in competition. 240 might be, or soon will be, banned due to it's old age. Reason is, OEM's don't want to support any racing for old vehicles. They want to see their newest car out in competition to promote the brand name. The racing organizitions have heard the OEM's request and are starting to take steps to limit age of competing cars.
