Got Dyno'd Today....
 

Before I put on my AAM angled spacer, I did a before/after dyno at Performance Motorsports...I have an '06 Base 6-speed. Here are the results:

Is it just me, or does this sound too high?

Too high..... flywheel HP is 300.

yeah I thought so...it was on a mustang dyno if that makes a difference....:icon8:

Thats strange. I thought Mustang dyno's typically results in lower numbers.

They claim the spacer puts 10whp or more? I had mine dynoed a few yrs ago at the same shop,see sig.. Thats why my Z is a close race with yours Mid.

the spacer put on 5 whp in my case.

Mustang dynos are usually a little lower than Dynojets because they're more accurate when operated correctly. Unfortunately, Mustang dynos are very easy to operate incorrectly. The numbers are very sensitive to operator input.

IMO Corrected numbers are usually inflated. They are meant to tell you what in a perfect, ideal situation what your car would be making. I was shocked to see 270 myself but I will not say it isn't possible. Even when I was at other shops using DynoJets I have seen stock Z's range anywhere from 220-264rwhp in the same day. Many factors come into play when dynoing, specifically which map the ecu was running. 270 with bolt-ons does seem high but not unrealistic. Congrats on the numbers and it was great seeing you yesterday.

They do, this shop corrects #'s for Dynojet like readings, obviously WAY off...

Mustangs usually are lower. the thing you have to remember about Mustang dynos is they load the rollers based on the vehicle weight the operator enters. If the operator enters a weight that is far too low the car will dyno higher. If the weight is too high it will drop the numbers. I actually tested this theory on a local Mustang dyno years ago. I had a Sentra SE-R at the time with a curb weight of 2750. At that weight the car made ~145 WHP. With the weight entered as 2000 lbs the car made 180 WHP

That's interesting. The weight difference was about 27%, and the power difference only about 20%.

The guy entered my Z's weight at 3500 lbs.
