Malfunction Indicator Lamp(MIL)
I was driving this morning, the light just turned on after a hard brake..I took my car to dealer for Intermediate service, it still turn on. They didnt even have time to check what is wrong...I am starting to question what kind of work they do for Intermdiate service...
anyway, when I got home, read the owner manel. I check my fuel cap, it tight. Now I dont know what else could be wrong with it?? Anyone has any answer for that...my car is bone stock by the way

Wow, that post was very vague. CEL comes on after you brake hard and you check the gas cap? Doesn't seem to correlate. If you don't get it checked by next week, you can come out to the Chino meet and I can test it and erase it.

Take it to autozone or somewhere equivalent, they will scan the code for free.
I can also scan it for you, but believe me, autozone has better hours
Sounds like THE TECH can scan it too.
Anyway, I wouldn't even take the car to the dealer without KNOWING what the CEL code means... because I don't like to be bullsh1tted.

Sorry for the confusion..
what happen was the light popped out after I broke hard. I thought the light turned on because I havent take my car in for service, I was about 500 to 1000 miles overdue for oil change. Thats when I took my car in for intermediate service, but the light still on after the service.
So, when I got home, I read the manuel. the manuel said it could be because my fuel cap was loose. So I check it and it was tight, so I dont know why the light turned on....my car only has 16k miles on it. I hope nothing major happen to it..

Let me re-iterate: IT IS FREE. (and takes minutes) And then you will KNOW why the light turned on. And then you can DO SOMETHING about it.
If the light is bogus, they can even ERASE THE CODE and make the light go away!

I just found out the code P1284 manufacturer controlled air/fuel meter. I also search the forum, it is air/fuel sensor issue. It should be cover under warranty right since my car is bone stock??

Please use better grammar, and think about what you're saying (typing).
Did you have them reset it? That’s all the dealership will do, and then drive it to see if it comes on again. If it does come back on they’ll more than likely fix it, if not they’ll just give it back; hopefully without any damage! Now as far as being covered under warranty, as long as it is less than 3 years or 36k miles they'll cover it. Being electrical I don’t think it will be covered after that. Being stock has nothing to do with being covered or not.

Well... if you have aftermarket headers and cats I doubt a dealer would replace an O2 sensor under warranty.
Bone stock you'll be fine. Go to the dealer, you KNOW what the problem is now (good for you) and tell them to fix your car. Why would it not be under warranty (unless you're outside the warranty period)?
