Just dyno'd my modded 06' rev-up

Hey guys just got back from the dyno a little bit ago. Was pretty happy with what I made. My current mods to it are Mrev2 and 5/16" plenum spacer, AAM reflash, kinetix test pipes, JWT pop charger, Top speed exhaust w/ AAM y-pipe. Power is 246whp and 231tq. Seems to be what about the other rev-up motors are making. Soon I'll be installing Top speed headers and Central 20 3.9 final drive. And I plan to have 300whp N/A by the end of the 07' summer. So let me know what you guys think of the current dyno. Ill get a picture up of the dyno chart then later on.

What type of dyno?

Chineseguy Jan 20, 2007 11:11 AM

IMO seems a bit low. for all the mods you have and a Rev-up motor.

jtgli Jan 20, 2007 11:14 AM

Its on a dyno jet dyno

savvy Jan 20, 2007 11:19 AM

that seems pretty low for your mods on a revup....i have seen stock revups make that power

jtgli Jan 20, 2007 11:22 AM

Hmmm i dunno, I thought that was average for a rev-up motor.

And my car is not tuned.

booger Jan 20, 2007 11:49 AM

you have a looooong way to go to get to 300whp......cash in the piggy bank also...its going to take alot of cash too.

Steve-O Z33 Jan 20, 2007 11:56 AM

I almost got that on a dyno jet in 90 degree heat. Something doesn't sound right.

diablo25mn Jan 20, 2007 12:18 PM

I got 256 whp and 248tq, out of my dyno with a K&N filter, 2.5" w/x-pipe exhaust, and MREV2-5/16 spacer. What gear did you dyno in and do you have a graph?

jtgli Jan 20, 2007 12:27 PM

it was a 4th gear dyno im posting the graph in a minute.

mikead_99 Jan 20, 2007 12:31 PM

Who's Dynojet? I know most say DJ reads higher, and that may be right, but I have also heard Dynapack reads real high. If you are talking about Church's Dynapack you are right, but I can show you a Dynapack in my area that reads Mustang Dyno low. It is all in how the shop sets it up. The best thing for dyno'ing is to get a base done on any machine, but than chart your gains as you go on the same machine so you know what impact your mods have really had. Comparing numbers with people on different machines across the country is completely useless.

98sr20ve Jan 20, 2007 12:53 PM

That does seem low for a dynojet. Most are pretty consistent if running the same software.

jtgli Jan 20, 2007 01:36 PM

Hmm I dunno. The graph isnt loadin onto the comp for some reason so Ima have to get a friend to do it. The shop though is a local performance shop. They do a lot of work on drag cars and muscle cars. I dont know if dyno jets are differenet when set up but I figured they are all the same. I thought that it was avereage the number I was putting down...a little less then I was hoping for but still I thought they were alright. But if it is people are putting down more power could it be the dyno at all? Or just a weak motor? I dunno becuase it hold up great against my brothers rev-up Z which has the same mods minus the reflash and I always pull a good 2 cars atleast. So I dunno?

To be honest, It could be nothing just the way the dyno is setup. The most important thing is the A/F graph and the actual torque and HP curves. Thats pretty much tells us the story with how your mods are behaving.

look at my graph in my post: https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....=1#post3137001 the numbers show are SAE in case anyone wonders

jtgli Jan 20, 2007 01:44 PM

I am going to get a buddy of mine who has a scanner to upload it so I can post the dyno graph. So stay posted for the next day when I can get the graph loaded up.

It's probably just the dyno/software, correction factor. If you car is running strong against another similiar Z then I wouldn't worry. To bad you didn't do a baseline. Thats really what a dyno is all about.

davidv Jan 20, 2007 03:15 PM

If you go to a different dyno, you may get different numbers, but it will be the same horsepower. In the spring bring that bad boy to Cecil County Dragway, Rising Sun, MD and race against me.:)

Your MPH in the 1/4 will tell you a lot about how much power you really have.
