It seems fairly high for RWHP (about 45hp over stock it seems - eh, maybe that isn't abnormal for new cams), and fairly low for crank HP (maybe 15 over stock). The torque numbers make it seem like RW numbers, so I guess those are pretty good gains. Still expensive though. -D'oh! |
That's a serious markup. I can get 4 Tomei cams shipped to the U.S. for less than half that. And two head gaskets couldn't be any more than $500 total.

what were they thinking? Can't someone design an intake that goes via radiator grill or under the car? Even hood scoops would be better than a hole in the front :mad: |

maybe it was a cheap way to get it to a direct ram air set up (cutting the stock nose) but I like the idea of the hole in the spot directly infront of the intake.
All in all i think it makes sense even though they could have done a better job. |

Trust them? How can you trust a company that puts an aftermarket spoiler on top of a factory spoiler? I wouldn't trust my best friend to make a sound decision if he did that to a Z.

Personally, I think that spoiler on top of a factory spoiler doesn't mean anything bad, it is probably a good reason why it is there.
If they air travel down to the factory spoiler generate a level downforce, and the spoiler on top of it general another level of downforce, I think it make sense to leave the factory spoiler there and put another spoiler on top. Mines probably ran some wind tunnel testing before they make a move like that. Mines is a company that does race car for a living, and their products are probably one of the best out there, hence their price. As for the intake, I think it make perfect sense since they just cut a hole, up one of those NASA type duct on the bumper and ram air straight into the intake box. No engine heat, and the duct itself generate a low pressure infront of it and therefore more air is given to the engine. The factory bumper with the lower lip also generate 0 lift and a pretty good DC, so there is no reason to swap it out for something with more drag since you don't need a bigger hole for Front mount intercooler like turbo cars. You do need a big wing in the rear to generate downforce at highspeed corner. Mines does race car, not show car. If you want to look good, ask another company. But thats alot of work to squeeze out that little hp. I guess the engine was just not designed for high rev, maybe mines will come out with a better NA kit later. Or they could just drop it and go Turbo like they always have, and everyone else seems to be doing. I sure hope JUN come out with a good NA kit for the car. |
Just as a note. This duel spoiler thing will only be accepted by me when it is from a good company with racing background. I will NEVER say the same for the Civic Hatchback with 3 spoiler on top of it... :p
