Mid-12's

is it a viable option to just start boltin on parts in my quest to get to mid-12 land, or is my best bet an fi kit? i'm just curious on how far u guys think boltons could get me. thanks.

I do believe a turbo is techinally a "Bolt on".. so if you only want bolt ons, and you have the money, it's possible

TheBigShow May 15, 2003 12:18 PM

well, what is the n/a bolton limit gonna b with the z? i know it's hard to tell at this point, but what r your opinions? i wouldn't know why any fi kit couldn't put me where i wanna b. time will tell. too bad i'm so impatient; i wanna start moddin now!!!

Do drag radials count as bolt ons?

TheBigShow May 15, 2003 12:43 PM

good question. for me? negative. i want a daily driven setup, if possible. what power would i need to put down? 350-375 at the wheels?

noone seems to think it now, but new parts are commin out-- like tha upper intake mani, and y pipes without cats and so forth

i bet well see low low 13's with just bolt ons in the future

Bout 100-125hp :D

Can't be done without going FI or going beyond boltons, or both.

That hks crate motor is pushing 450 so never say never

i don't see myself savin up 6+ grand for a greddy kit, and if i somehow managed i probly wouldn't wanna waste it on something for my car. i could possibly do something that was 2-3 grand mayb. i'll probly just end up doin like i did with my si: simple boltons. i did end up juicin the civ, but i don't think i'll do that again.

Exactly what is a crate motor and does it have the same displacement as a normal Z.

It is 450 at the crank, and it is $75k. It also only runs on race fuel. It's hardly an example of what is possible for a street car.
