What's the best dyno we've seen on a stock Z?

And what's the average rwhp? There's some controversy over this at some of the other car forums I visit; they're pretty much slamming the Z.

I know Importriders pulled like a 252 rwhp (bone stock track model) at Stillen dyno day. That's the highest I've seen.

I'd like to see the posts from the other forums. Can you paste them here or PM me some links? Thanks.

I dynoed at 245HP average. Highest I ever dynoed stock was a 249. Dynos are all over the place though; some people get as low as 220, others are up near 250. A Z should dyno at somewhere in between 235-245 to the wheels.

That's just BS. FWD cars do not exhibit as much drivetrain loss as RWD cars. It's as simples as that. Plus, there haven't been difinitive baselines on the Z. They are all over the place.

Furthermore, Nissan is not known for overrating engines. They are not Ford! They underrate the Skyline by about 40 hp from the factory!

Sorry for the rant. I hate Honda people now since mine got stolen.:icon10: :D

No,

Actually the drive shaft in a RWD is what causes the loss in power. So yes, a FWD will take less of a drive train loss. Given equal components installed in each vehicle. It will be a small ammount of loss, but it still is a loss. Same with a 4WD vehicle. Not including the XFER case loss...

EDIT:

the person who started that thread is a bit of a DQ. Just ignore it.

What was the humidity? baromic pressure? temperature, elevation ...

Lots of variables left out... Looks like he just stumbled upon a dyno and took it for gold.

A small displacement engine could easily lose that much power on a bad weather day. I have seen some 240+ hp 250z dynos on here myself. I dunno what he is thinking...

Hey hey! Ford screwed up ONE year with the Cobra. The new ones are very underrated. You know this, man.

So if the 350 is getting up to 250hp to the wheel would that mean the G35 coupe could be getting about 245hp at the wheel and the sedan could be getting about 230 to the wheel? I have seen dynos for some of the G35C and they were around 233- 235 would that be bad?
