Do Calif Z's have less power???
Hi,
Years ago Calfornia always had very stringent emission laws for cars. So people that were buying cars only bought Calif if they lived in Calif. Apparently due to all the smog stuff on the cars that are not required in other states the Calif cars were less powerful (slower). Is this still true? The reason I ask is I'm looking for a Z now but my area (Utah) doesn't have a very large selction of Z's. So I was thinking of looking in Calif. Thanks |
Not true at all, 91oct sucks though.

my first Z was originally from cali. it didn't seem slow to me

Cali Z's arn't slower... Cali Maxima's were slower in 1999 because they had an extra Catalytic Converter.. they had 4 as oppose to 3 all 4th Gen Maxima's came with

this used to be true, but now there are a few other states that follow similar smog laws and all the cars that nissan produces in the US are the same across the US
