Default has anyone traded up because of oil consumption?

long story short. I have a 2006gt mt going in to dealer tommorow because of oil consumption. I have searched these boards on the problem, and for the most part it has been all horror stories, some people on their third engine already. I am curious if anybody dealing with the same issue traded up into a newer model without the oc problem. Were you able to negotiate a fair price?
Did they take into account the cost of swapping your engine as opposed to a trade for newer car?
I am not expecting a buyback, I just want what I paid for, a car that does'nt consume oil.

People 'trade up' for all kinds of reasons. Why don't you just keep what you have and build a long block for it? If you don't like the car in general, then 'trade up'.

I know goth, I am just trying to get someone else's view who might have delt with this particular situation on a trade. I am hoping for the best.

I think the people who have been successful in forcing a trade have used the lemon laws in their state and the help of an attorney to twist Nissan's arm... Nissan will not do it willingly or with a smile...

The OC Sticky above would be helpful in providing insight for you...

Oh btw, I love my car, had a 91 300tt before this. Last oil change I was down 3.5 quarts at around 3k between my last oil change. Plus my car is stock. I am not gonna pay to have my engine built, nor do I want a new one (even covered by warranty)depreciating the value of what I paid for.

thanks for the input. I have read up on members only getting a buyback after a second or third engine. Some like you said, after getting a lawyer involved.
