Dynoe'd Car :D

Info before dyno..

Location : Aurora, Colorado
Elevation : 5680ft
Temp : 90 F (97 F ambient @ shop not factored)
Pressure : 30.22"
Dew : 32 F
Relative : 79.7% of rated hp
Dyno Correction Factor : 1.254

Today was hot as f***, but here are the numbers,

Max Power = 240.1
Max Torque = 228.2

Corrected:

Max Power = 301.08
Max Torque = 286.16

Please take these num#'s with a grain of salt, but mods on the car are:

JWT Pop Charger
Crawford Z Plenum
Nismo Headers
LSD cat pipes
Borla Dual Exhaust

& 18,138 miles on the engine thus far. I'll try and scan the dyno sheet tomarrow @ work.

Next up:
UR Pulleys & Tomei Cams :D

little_rod Aug 13, 2003 05:00 PM

cooool, do you have a baseline?? Man, at that elevation, that is pretty good.

Juztin Aug 13, 2003 05:18 PM

Thanks little_rod :D, unfortunately this is my baseline as I never dynoed the car before. Next time I dyno the car I will get more like 3 runs in instead of one. Been putting a lotof work into the car and it's paying off :D. I'll be running the quarter mile sometime this month, but probably on 20" rims when I get my Axis rims in :D. Have a good night!

JZC Aug 13, 2003 07:18 PM

Sweet, that's kinda the same line up I'm gonna be doing.

What is that to the crank? :icon8:

Juztin Aug 13, 2003 07:31 PM

About 340 - 350hp w/ drive train loss factored back in :D

little_rod Aug 13, 2003 08:57 PM

Wow, that is a lot more at the crank than I thought for an N/A setup like that. Of course, all that money would have gone a long way towards FI...........:D

JZC Aug 13, 2003 10:08 PM

I'm doing all of the WITH a Procharger.

Bwuahahahahaha

MY350Z.COM Aug 13, 2003 10:27 PM

impressive numbers

350ZMotorsports Aug 13, 2003 11:40 PM

I know you said you didn't dyno it stock, but did you run it at the track before any mods? It would be an interesting before and after comparison.

Okay...so maybe I'm a total idiot, but what is the difference between the corrected numbers and the raw numbers? I don't think corrected means crank, because you then guesstimated that as well.

So I'm confused why there is such a huge bump from the raw numbers to the "corrected" numbers. Does "corrected" mean "sea-level estimate"?

Help?

Corrected means thats the numbers are corrected for std. temperature and pressure. So yes, corrected means an estimate of the power at sea level and std. temp ! It's way for everyone to compare data no matter where you live and what the outside temp is !

Juztin Aug 14, 2003 06:07 AM

Nope, I didnt ever run it on the track before or after the upgrades (not yet ;) ). I just found out that there is a test & tune night up at Bandimere speedway on wednesday and runs about 30 bucks for as many runs till close. Some of the Z guys in the south west forum are thinking about getting together to do a test & tune night. I'll be there if they get that going pretty soon, otherwise I'll wait for good ol pay day and take the car down to the track. And exactly as jeh mentioned. Corrected is the way to get an idea of what my car would be putting out at sea level and "ideal" pressure and humidity, temp, etc.. You can check out SAE correction parameters to get an idea of what their idea is of the best conditions for power output. The altitude up here is really killer :( . But this state has toooo many super kik a$$ twisty roads through the mountains to move some where else :D

According from the people I've talked to that test & tune, stock Z's are running around 15.5 ish runs down the 1/4 mile. Altitude sucks... :icon8:

Just like JZC, all the mods plus cams and pulleys will make a meannnnn setup with a Procharger and the stock psi :D :D :D

cbsuper Aug 14, 2003 06:19 AM

I'll be posting mines tomorrow. I should be putting down the same numbers as well.

Juztin Aug 14, 2003 06:25 AM

SWEET :D

350ZMotorsports Aug 14, 2003 09:58 AM

If stock ones are running 15.5 (not sure how good those drivers are) I'm guessing you'll better those times by about 4-6 tenths and a few mph

Juztin Aug 14, 2003 11:56 AM

I'll be running down the 1/4mile with some local Zers here in Denver on 8/20/03 I'd be happy if I can run a very high 14 :D . That will be my first time running down the 1/4 so we'll see what kinda laughs happen :D :D :D

what the hell are you talkin about... I ran 14.55 bone stock and a 14.09 with only I/E/ECU and the tuning on the ecu didnt touch the fuel maps... honestly bro I dont think you'll have any trouble breakin into the mid 13's... hahaha just remeber TAKE YOU TCS OFF!!!!! hahaha I left my on and got a great laugh out of that... good luck....

I think many stock Z's dyno at his pre-corrected numbers, correct?

shaneotool Aug 14, 2003 12:50 PM

Those look like good numbers for your altitude, but those corrected numbers seem pretty high.

300 whp with those mods is crazy. I realize that would be at sea level with perfect conditions, but still.
