Default My Z's going to be my DD, should I change my oil?

It has been about 4 months since I changed my oil because it was in storage. Since the oil change I would drive it every other week for about 100 miles driven in the last 4 months. Starting next week I'm going to be using the Z as a daily driver (about 30 miles a day), should I change my oil this weekend? I currently have Mobil 1 0w-40 in my engine.

oh and I"m also thinking about switching to Royal Purple, for Mobil 1 0w-40 and royal purple are the only premium oils near my place, which grade should I use? Is it even worth switching to Royal Purple? I was trying to figure this out in the Oil Analysis page, but the charts are confusing.

You obviously cannot read the charts if your planning to switch to royal purple.

Think...Harder...

Opinions. ALL oils---synthetic or not---are approved by the SAE & the API, so they're ALL O.K. I go by price (when I run into a nice special sale, I stock up!). I've got a truckload of 5W3O MOBIL 1 in my garage!

+1 mobil1 0w-40 is probably one of the best oils for the VQ without spending $12+ a quart

I would follow the owner manual recommondation 5W-30. I personally use Mobil 1 and have no problem with it.

HHmm I've never heard that royal purple was bad before. I've been using it for about 6k miles (2 oil changes) now since I thought it was one of the best. I guess I read wrong eh?

it's not that royal purple is bad...it's just not a great oil for the VQ...read the UOA analysis thread and it tells why in depth

Not a great oil for any car. Read the UOAs at bobistheoilguy.com site. RP is not a smart move.
