Nismo Diff Cover question
I was looking into doing a custom diff cooler from my Nismo diff cover. I already sourced all the parts and have and have an idea how much it will cost. My qustion is what size connector or NPT fitting would bolt into the drain/fill plug on the Nismo cover. I searched and saw the ARC setup rickdogg dig but haven't heard from him. Guess he's not on here that often. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Nobody knows?

Try pming rick again. He's always on here. He might just have missed it.

Sorry for not replying quickly to your pm. My pm box has been pretty filled as of late and I just respond to the pm's that need immediate attention. All of the fittings on most of the kit were 6AN size including the diff cover location.
Ok. Thanks rickdogg. I was planning on using 8 AN bcuz the pump reccomended that size hose. I appreciate ur response.
please explain to me this custom setup. might replicate this when your done, and please please please...diy it, i have spare coolers laying around i gotta put to use
Yeah I will post everything up a the parts come in. It's not the hard. Only difficult thing would be to find the perfect location, height from the ground and protection from debri.
Update: was busy installing my PL kit. But I got the last two fittings today. I did some pre measuring and mounting already will post some pics and my shopping list later.

Went with decent size, especially being lowered (2) Protection from debri. (rocks, diapers, road kill) (3) Position that it can be seen from there rear (not too hidden) and can get airflow (4) Not to use too much hose. More hose, bigger cooler, more fluid. (5) Location. Angle (6) How and where to position the pump (7) On/Off swith with inline fuse (where to mount) Design sketch.lol:D http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...OOLERSETUP.jpg Picture of all parts... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...E/DSCN1537.jpg Pump install location... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...E/DSCN1535.jpg Inline filter location... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...E/DSCN1527.jpg Other pics: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...E/DSCN1543.jpg . http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...E/DSCN1539.jpg . http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...E/DSCN1540.jpg . http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...E/DSCN1541.jpg . http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...E/DSCN1542.jpg . http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...E/DSCN1528.jpg . http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...E/DSCN1529.jpg . http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...E/DSCN1526.jpg . http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...E/DSCN1536.jpg . http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...E/DSCN1525.jpg . http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...E/DSCN1524.jpg . http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...E/DSCN1523.jpg . http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...E/DSCN1522.jpg . http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...E/DSCN1530.jpg . http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...E/DSCN1531.jpg . http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...E/DSCN1532.jpg . http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...E/DSCN1534.jpg . http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...E/DSCN1533.jpg Not the grande finale yet. I set it up, took a few pics, then took it apart for more pics. Overall, I think it was simple to do. I used a dremel and cutting wheel to cut the hose and Earl's grease for the hose/fittings. What do you think? Any comments?.... Keep it or go back the drawing board?? |
Looks good, whats the total cost?
sooooo im just wondering what the hell you need to cool the rear end off so bad....i mean unless you just drive around doin a burn out the whole time...looks good tho just dont hit anything on the road or that b!tch is gone
thanks. It's not done yet. I thinking it's hanging kinda low. And yes. I do alot of burn outs. Plus I now have the PL kit. I just had $500 laying around so I figured fack it...spend it on something else...
nice job and attention to detail just becarefuly on those speed bumps lol
thanks!! I'm more worried about the road kill on these PA streets than speedbumps.
your setup is intended for a single exhaust i presume. for the dual guys, is there a place to mount it higher (too lazy to look at my car lol)
+1 on speedbumps, my exhaist scrapes sometimes, this thing would be toast at that height lol |
