Any Idea's About Making a Fast N/A 2007 Z?

I have a 2007 Nismo and im looking to make it faster but forced induction is not very reliable for a DD which my Z is. So i would appreciate some ideas and mods and if you could tell me how much power the mods you list would give me that would be cool too. Alright Thanks everyone : )

well with power mods i would stick with a jwt pop charger test pipes, and a plenum spacer. There aren't many mods that do a hole lot for the vq motor. what is your price range?

Spork Aug 14, 2009 07:36 PM

It has an HR. It can already run 10's.

Nexx Aug 14, 2009 07:39 PM

HR, nuff said.

4.Uprev Osiris Tune
5.GTM Valve Body Upgrade

I wish there was a forum where we talked about performance mods for the 350Z.

if u do injen intake, hks exhaust, test pipes, and an uprev tune u should have about 318rwhp throw on some wider rims and tires and a short shifter maybe change your final drive and thats pretty much it. unless u add a 75-100 shot of nos.

seriously OP, from someone who has spent alot of time making an NA Z (not an HR but the same theories apply), your best course of action is

1. define a goal. Be clear about what your goal is, including being honest with yourself about what it is you're looking for, where you use the car (ie don't say "track" if you've never been to one, or go 1 or 2 times a year, etc)

2. define a budget, and don't forget to cushion it by 20-50% for "what if's"

3. there is no magical recipe for making NA power - it comes from a culmination of well planned mods that are well tuned.

4. read the NA Build section. While all the current builds discuss DE's, you will still learn a wealth of info if you take the time to read the builds, digest the info, and if you come across an idea or concept you don't understand, google it to find out more.

hope that helps

injen dual cai, test pipes , motordyne y-pipe and rest of exhaust ,up rev tune, driver mod
oh and of course painting it red helps a lot! about 32.38 rwhp and 28 rwtq for the paint mod correct me if im wrong :)

kyx4n Aug 15, 2009 06:22 PM

lose weight?

lol jk.

ChanceWarren Aug 17, 2009 08:28 AM

^ Actually, joking or not, that's excellent advice. If the driver can lose weight, great! But the car can always lose some weight... I'm putting my NA 07 on a diet before I add the intake/exhaust/etc.

There's a reason the Lotus, with around 170hp, kills a Z/G without breaking a sweat.

warmmilk Aug 17, 2009 11:54 AM

being that the hr rev's to 7500 rpm, a shorter final drive can be pretty usefull without making the gears to short. a 3.9 final drive on an hr will give you about the same top speed in every gear as a non revup stock, a 4.08 will be a hair shorter than that...

thats prolly gonna be the next mod to my car along with a quaife lsd...

biggersNISMO Aug 17, 2009 02:55 PM

^^^ yeah, 3.9 FD would have been my next mod... a long with other sh1t but, i got laid off :(

once you get your basic breathing mods out of the way, i would say the drivetrain would be the next thing to look at...

if you really want to get nasty, you could do cams, valvesprings, pistons, rods, tuning, and some spray....

but hey, you could always tint the windows and call it good.
you have a Nismo, it's sexy just the way it is
