Earl's Hoses and Fittings
 

Hey All,

I did a few searches and didn't really find anything, but I was wondering who here has had any experience or is familiar with using Earl's hoses.

Specifically I am looking to replace a few hoses, like the radiator hoses, with earls hoses and clamp ends. Looks something like this:

I'm a little cranky because GReddy sells ^that kit for a freakin' Nissan Sentra but not for any other make of Nissan. And yea, I already contacted them, and they said to go see my nearest Earl's hose dealer. :icon22: Grrr. Weird thing is they obviously used them in this car:

I think they could make some serious money if they offered these Earl's kits for more Makes and Models...


But basically I want to do just as above, but with hoses and clamps that will fit the Z specs. I wanted to go for quality, and I like the way they look too. So, just wondering if anyone has done anything like this? Thanks!

I had the same idea a while ago. I called Earl's and I need to supply them all the dimensions of what was needed. I ended up using the python lock kit.

You can also use AeroQuip or Russell. Or find a Hydraulic Hose shop that can get you or make what you need.

Thanks guys. I think I'm going to try a local place: ELD Performance. They do mostly domestic stuff, and drag car products. But its a good bet that they would have them there.

You realize these are just outer dress up sleeves right? They just slip over your existing hoses they don't replace them,. You can literally buy them at pepboys, autozone, etc

Earl's hoses are extremely durable and used a lot in racing apps.

They really aren't that different though. All fine and well if the look is all you're going for, but it's not anything performance oriented. Just a dressup sleeve. The Earle's takes things a bit further in that it comes with a molded rubber hose underneath - your stock rad hoses are molded rubber too, so nothing fancy there

The problem with using true steel braided hose for radiator hoses is being able to clamp it down to prevent leaks. If you are going to use braided hose for that application it needs to be done with the correct fittings to be able to seal off. This would require welding bungs into the water neck and the radiator to allow the use of AN fittings. For a radiator hose -16 would most likely be needed.

Otherwise you're better off just using the hose sleeves over your OEM hoses.
