How's your 350Z coping with the cold?
From what I've read the 350Z has had a bit of a "hang-up" while going into 2nd gear when is cold,
by "hang-up" I mean that it tends to not want to engage easily. This will go away as the car gets warmed-up. However, this morning being a LOT colder than usual here in Florida, my car actually grinded while going into 2nd gear. But as soon as the car got warmmed up it shifted as usual. Is this a sign that the clutch is taking it's last toll? Or have anyone else experience the same issue? Inputs welcome! |
No worries. Its just cold man. Mine does it too. My car loves the cold!
Cold air = HP! |
its the weight/ age of the tranny fluid. its been close to 0 or below several times, with the correct fluid for these conditions no problems
|
^ +1. Mine was doing it b/c I had the wrong gear oil in there. GL5 instead of GL4. I had Royal Purple and I switched to Motul. Much better.

Mine does the same thing, I try to let it warm up for at least 10-15 minutes before driving it and even then I shift slow until it's properly heated up.

his title and post are kinda 2 different questions.
I don't critique someone's car before I look at it just because the title says "My car photoshoot, tell me what you think" |

Freezing temperatures (32 degrees) does strange things to anything filled with liquid. The shocks for example. Oil inside flows poorly. The shocks will rattle your teeth. But like everything else they warm to operating temperature in a few minutes. |
Hey bro just warm the car up in the morning for 15 minutes and you're good to go. I did this today and no problems at all. The car drives better too after it comes up to operating temp.
