Engine Power Cutting out at apx 5,700rpm's? Any help?
:dunno: I have an 04z with the Vortec SC kit, plenum spacer, and full exhaust. I have been running this set up for about 10-20k miles now. I have just started having problems with the power cutting out at about 5,700 rpm's, if I continue to press the gas it will slowly still accelerate. It is defiantly an abrupt loss of power when it happens, almost like hitting the rev limiter. It happens in all gears. :werd:
Any insight? Thanks! |

Have you added any new mods? Moved to a different area or severe weather change does that with utec. You have utec? Did you reset your ecu lately? I need more info.

mods: New intake about a week ago(duh)..... Im going to go mess with that today and see if that is it? I taked to one of my friends and he thinks the tubing that I used to build it might be colapsing at a bend under high suction/high rev? no big move, I live in Hawaii so no weather change. No utec, just the piggyback system that came with the Vortec kit. I have never re-set the ECU. The only other thing I can think of that it might be is fuel pump cutting out? either the stock one? or the one that came with the Vortec kit?:dunno: Thanks for your help! |
Ok I figured it out, it was that F**kin intake tube. It had a slight bend in it where it passed through my bumper and under high rev where the engine was sucking a lot of air the tube would colapse on its self cutting off air flow. Thanks to those who gave input! Now Im going to beat my head off the wall.
