The transmission will break after the warranty expires. That's just the way things happen.

true, replaced mine at 66k, it wasn't all the way done but they were up under it already replacing the clutch pivot bolt behind the pedal so i said why not, i would just be paying for the clutch and not the labor since they were so far up in my car already...get a local mechanic to do if it's out of warranty that you trust

im at 78k and nothing wrong with my tranny at all. I think the clutch will need to be replaced in a year, but nothing alarming at all.

Are you worried about the clutch or transmission clutches wear out it is normal transmissions should last years and years but some issues have been found with the trannies in the earlier cars. Its not something I would lose sleep over. I have had twin turbos on my 2003 6mt since 2007 and my transmission is holding up fine so far.

My 06 has been WOT shifted since I bought it and she grabs perfectly. Of course my shifts are incredibly smooth though.

WOW...long time since I posted.

My tranny just "blew up". Really, the pivot ball for the clutch fork snapped off. The tranny is fine. However, I now have to have it repaired. The one small pivot ball is going to cost me at least $800. Mileage is currently 145,500. Oh, and the 6th gear syncro is going.

As for the clutch, mine stocker was fine when I removed it at 70,000. Looked new. I would be more worried about the tranny quality and not the clutch.
