07 HR won't go into gear
 

Ok so i just had a very reputable shop around the area install my new southbend stage 2 clutch/southbend flywheel and custompartz updated slave cylinder. The fluid used was redling mt-90. In the morning the car literally wont go into reverse, even with all my strength. So i keep trying until it does. Then first gear is the same way, tons of force and wont go into gear so i keep trying untill it lets me force it in. So i took it back to the shop and they are extremely nice and flushed a quart of the mt90 out and mixed in mt85 for free to try it out. No difference what so ever. After a long highway trip gears are still notchy but not nearly as bad. ANY IDEAS at all? OEM fluid maybe? Thanks guys.

Thats the clutch not releasing. I'd suspect clutch has air in it, highly doubt gear lube would cause low rpm issues like getting into reverse. I've got the same year / color you do :D

So you think bleed the clutch line?

Yep, what your describing is exactly what i got when i first bought my car (middle of Dec. 2010). Second the temp dropped i had the pedal sagging half way down and wouldn't actuate the clutch enough to put it into gear.

I owned the car for two weeks, dropped the transmission and replaced the CSC myself. Also modified the clutch pedal so i could adjust it more:

The 07+ clutch system is a PITA to bleed, you have to pump it slowly, but between each pump wait like 30 seconds otherwise you wouln't get anywhere. Apparently theres some orifice valve in the system that causes this.

take it to nissan or a reputable shop in your area and have them bleed the clutch.

Then you probably want to take the car back to the "reputable shop" to fix it right.

How cold is it in dfdubbb? From the weather site, it looks like lows in the 30s for DFW. That's not cold enough for the transmission oil to cause the problem you describe.

You didn't mention grinding, but are you hearing it grind when you shift from neutral to reverse or 1st with the car stopped? If the clutch was dragging, you'd have to be having some grinding then.

Air in the line would cause the pedal to be spongy at the top and harder as you get to the bottom.

I'm thinking the "reputable shop" messed up the shift mechanism when they removed and reinstalled the transmission. With moderate temperatures and no grinding, the symptoms point that way.

yea its about low 30s and like i said before the clutch was replaced i had oem fluid in there and it was still smooth in the mornings. Its not grinding but when forced in the gear you can feel it go in halfway and then all the way. Gears don't grind when shifting just extremely notchy. First and reverse make me not even want to drive the car.

Also forgot to mention tranny was replaced for a grinding issue about 5k ago. So it cant be the trans.

So i took it back to the shop to rebleed it, then it came out worse. The pedal was spongy and it wasnt before. THey said they bled it twice. THey are blaming the the company i bought the upgraded slave from, and that company is saying its an install error. I broke the clutch in accordingly. This is a nightmare. I am now out of a car.
