Fresh dyno'd

Just got home from having my car dyno'd,and I understand why they call them the heartbreak dyno.My only concern is now I have this really bad dead spot between 2500-3000 rpm.If I ease into the throttle it's not as bad. It's when I get in it hard,it almost acts like it shuts down them recovers slowly till just over 3,000 rpm.He told me that it is acting like a small vacuum leak.I have stilen gen3 intakes, berk hfc's,and nismo s-tune.It baselined at 248.6 and tuned out to 261.6.

If you find another dyno your car may have more horsepower.;)

Your car is running lean. You need a tune.

Thats what I had done, it was fully tuned.

sounds like what i had when i had test pipes and cat back only. like it hesitates then goes.

I found a small vacuum leak and that fixed the sudden bog down, but is it normal for these mods and tune to make it feel like nothing below 3000 rpm?

What numbers are you looking for and why? N/A on this platform with bolt ons doesn;t make huge gains if that is what you were looking at.

shilly Feb 3, 2011 04:29 AM

I wasn't looking for numbers,I knew going in that I wasn't going to get huge numbers, what I was looking for is just overall drivabillity. It just feels like there is no power till 3000 rpm, then all of a sudden this huge surge off power.

I know my Osiris tune started right at 3k rpms and so have most others I have seen. What did Forged use to tune your car? Also, I do not see the a/f on your chart unless I am blind.

this topic has been brought up before and this is the conclusion I came to...

Dyno's dont provide true numbers. Only serves as baseline for point A to B.
Because different dyno's throw out different numbers. starting point to end result.

heres an analogy....

I am assuming they used uprev, the a/f is on another sheet I have, and it looks pretty decent. The main problem is the pulls start at 2600 rpm,and I have this bog feeling from 2000-3000.My concern is that the car felt better before the tune down there.

I completely understand that, and as far as the numbers are concerned,I don't care where they ended up.I want drivability, and using the dyno to correct a/f ratios is almost neccesary. If he didnn't give me the # sheet I wouldn't have cared.I am looking for streetability and feel,if the dyno said I made 400hp and drove like crap,it would do me no good.
