Losing the clutch petal on long trips?

Losing the clutch petal on long trips?
This has happened 2 times this summer and each time it's happened it has been while driving the car over an hour at interstate speeds 75-80mph. The clutch petal will eventually start sticking halfway and the longer you drive the car the petal will go to the floor and stay there with no return. You can still shift gear but you have to stand on the petal then return the petal manually with your foot. Once the car sits and cools off it's back to normal and may not do it again for quite some time. This only happens on sustained interstate driving such as long trips.
The Z has a new oem exedy clutch/act streetlight flywheel and I have bled the line and there is no air in it. Car has 120,000 miles on it so I am thinking slave cylinder is ready to go?

Same thing my 05 did and many other peoples cars did. Its actually the clutch master. Simple $15 rebuild and bleed.
You can probably even get away with taking it apart and cleaning the sediment out of it, reassemble with the same seals.

Found one via google search... Some people say its the MC and some say slave and some people say to switch to dot 4 fluid because dot 3 overheats and each time I had this happen it was very hot days.
I'll probably just replace the mc and sc with new units and use a dot 4 fluid.

sticking
that's what I ended up doing, I ended up having the Master and slave clutch cylinder's changed out with a tranny flush and new fluid and it's back to normal again. I'm a 2005 as well and at 100,000 and figured I might as well do all of it and not have to worry about any other piece possibly failing and having to do it again.

Simple to rebuild , takes less than 15 minutes. Rebuild kits are $15 for the master, 15 for the slave. Master is slightly hard to put back together , slave , any 5 year old could do it. Hardest part is the bleed after, plenty of DIY on the bleed.

Fyi brake fluid absorbs moisture from the air which lowers its boiling point. It is recommended to flush it so often a simple flush can sometimes fix this issue. I had a prelude on hot days my brake pedal did this. Tested brake fluid and it had too much water so I flushed it and it was good as new.. real humid areas tend to get this more often..

PS i would pay the extra $15 and do the slave while you have it apart and need to bleed it. The slave has a much bigger spring on it AKA pressure plate, and will not normally stick like the master will.

75% you need a rebuild. But not always. There is an boring in there that seals the piston same a a caliper and water does not make a good seal so you get an internal leaks which would be why it only does it on long trips.
