Bar's head gasket overheated a lot my motor
my 350Z car with only 150,000 overheated a lot (going the temperature needle all the way up) after I used Bar's
I used a small bottle of Bar's and a followed instructions as written on the bottle, but everything turned out into a disaster The mechanic checked the car for 2 hours and found all the cooling passages full of that ugly Bar's stuff. The mechanic told me, that is impossible to remove that stuff, after it will dry out and if he would, I will need to pay for a new motor I have a no win situation and the car will not longer take me to my job as used to be before The reason why I added Bar's head gasket was because of a minor coolant leak When I found the bottle at the auto parts, I believed everything written on it, but unfortunately, it wasn't the true story For 2 weeks, my car is seating in my garage for the first time since I bought the car Jesus!, that is not good and my paycheck is getting smaller, because I'm everyday late to start working in my job I'm going to investigate more to see same problems when people were using this stuff  |
Why in the world... Sucks that had to happen, I would never use a pour in sealant type goop in my engine.

Sorry to hear about your car.
Several questions:where was the leak?Radiator, from the engine area? You mentioned your mechanic said all the cooling passages are clogged. How did he check this?Is he talking about the radiator? Its a little late now,but you should have used the regular Barrs Leak, not the head gasket Barrs."ONLY" 150K MILES...thats some substantial miles. If it were me,I'd try to flush the cooling system. This may work.If I remember correctly, the Barrs head gasket stuff is pretty heavy duty. Its really for big leaks like a cracked block or head. Also, you have to drain ALL the coolant(anti-freeze) before using. Bottom line, any of these sealants are just a band-aid if they work. I'd use e'm in a old beater. Not a Z. |
I have seen people use that stuff before and it causes more damage than good. I actually used it when I was 16 and had my first car, I didn't know better. It will form flakes all over your system and will try to patch the area but it will not.. if it does it doesn't work.
I wwouldn't do it.. |

I wwouldn't do it.. I GOT SHOCKED BY THE INFORMATION FOUND ON THE INTERNET and now I'm sure that the Bar's product I used is causing big problems to many people Information found: I started digging for weeks on the NET about Bar's Products and finally I got the answer to my problem and the reason why Bar's head gasket made by Bar's Products damaged badly my engine and I found this: "there are many consumers that got duped like me by fakes Bar’s Products Reviews posted on its WEBSITE telling the people the magic of it product and that never failed on any car" It is a criminal activity done by Bar’s Products INC manufactured of Bar’s Head Gasket Fix to rip off people Bar’s Head Gasket Fix was rejected and trademark not accepted ON AUGUST 28, 2009 Bar’s Products Inc, MI 48442, had no merits to obtain a US PATENT and US TRADEMARK REGISTRATION. Its argument were not solid enough to prove anything on the product known as BAR’S PERMANENT HEAD GASKET FIX # 1111 and how the product will fix or repair anything at all UNITED STATES PATENT AND TRADEMARK OFFICE ________________________________________ Commissioner for Trademarks P.O. Box 1451 Alexandria, VA 22313-1451 United States Patent and Trademark Office Aug 28, 2009 NOTICE OF ABANDONMENT ________________________________________ SERIAL NUMBER: MARK: APPLICANT: 77/261335 HEAD GASKET FIX Bar's Products, Inc. ________________________________________ THE ABOVE IDENTIFIED TRADEMARK APPLICATION WAS ABANDONED IN FULL ON 07/30/2009 FOR THE FOLLOWING REASON: NO RESPONSE TO THE OFFICE ACTION MAILED ON 01/30/2009 WAS RECEIVED IN THE UNITED STATES PATENT AND TRADEMARK OFFICE (USPTO) WITHIN THE SIX-MONTH RESPONSE PERIOD. Mr Sparco Not even putting Bar's products people against the wall and shoot them will bring any solution to my engine damaged and to many others around the country, but a product recall and pay for damages will be the right solution and people having the power to do so, should be acting ASAP |

ANSWER: I don't know much about problems like that and I'm feeling bad for all the money I will have to pay for repairs for adding Bar's HG fix I also found on a website this complain and I wish it will help others with the same problem. Do not believe anything written by Bar's products Please read the following: Engine is not reparable due to overheated by Bar's. People must put a stop on it and no buying more Bar’s head gasket. Where is the big testing area on hundreds and hundreds of different engines? The damaged done by Bar's will cost thousands of dollars in repairs How you are going to feel; after having an experience like this? Every intent to get paid by Bar's, goes without answering the phone Bar's is having so many complaints that they refuse to answer the phone According to Bar's products website, Bar's will fix anything, but it doesn't and is pure crap |
so are you gonna sue them now?

the shop might be trying to get you too.
replace the radiator after you flush out the system a couple of times. replace the thermostat, and go from there. you may not remove all of the bar's. but it should be cleaned out enough to run with out overheating. and, what was the original leak? or where was it at? |
Contact Bars....my coworker contacted them with a few questions about putting it in a turbo car, and they said "if something happens, and the cause is found to be from the Bars product, that they will cover the cost"
It might be worth a few phone calls |
I would try to call and get documents from your mechanic stating it's from their product. You could even use that documentation for bbb and attorney general if they do not help.
People think there is a quick and cheap fix for s head gasket, the only way is replace it or whatever is causing the leak. |
I don't think op knows much about cars. he should have a friend that knows more about cars to help him.

overheated motor by Bar's
Thank you to all of you for your helping hand
Many people are having problems after using Bar's Going legal is going to be the only way 5 years ago, an ex co-worker got the money back for the bottle ($30.00) he bought and failed, but he should not accepted money only for the bottle What about all the money he paid for the parts? And his wife was 8 month pregnant and no car to drive |
