multi disc clutches that use OEM throwout bearing?
 

So I am in the process of gathering parts for my 6mt swap in my 03 G and am down to the the last few pieces. clutch slave/master cylinder and a clutch. I was looking at exedy, OS Giken and Spec clutches and wondering if there are any multi-plate options that use the OEM throwout bearing? I would assume the clutch would last a long time and the throwout bearing would go first. I just want to make sure it would be easily replaced when that does happen.

I am currently at about 400-450whp but looking to go higher in the future so I would like to plan accordingly. Any info would be appreciated. I have been doing constant research on what clutches will fit what I am looking for, drivability, power handling etc. so this is one of the last considerations I have.

I would call a supplier like Z1 or forged performance.

thanks. if I can't find one that uses OEM throwout bearing i'll probably just make sure I pick up an extra while theyre available and not discontinued

I thought most of them do? My Exedy does. Ive got something like 30k on it and its still going fine.

nice. I am pretty sure most use an aftermarket throwout bearing(their brand) for multiplate clutches. are you using an exedy twin or triple disc? I actually just picked up an exedy triple so that would be great if it uses OEM throwout

Do you really need a triple? My twin holds something like 900+ ft/lb tq.

depending on brand some hold more than others. IE the exedy carbon triple I got is rated to 981 ft/lb wtq whereas the spec twins can be from 900-1200(depending on model).

Ah, carbon. I converted mine to ceramic/metallic for longevity on the street. This setup actually holds more power too.

Unfortunately the exedy triple only comes in carbon and it was too good a deal to pass up(black friday sale). I wanted either exedy or OS giken but was also looking into Spec/Competition clutch for price point until I bought the triple. Supposedly the carbon is pretty good for holding power and though it is unsprung and not as street friendly as organic, it should be better than metallic puck style clutches. I don't daily the car though so it should last a few years at least until rebuild is needed. I drive it maybe 4-5k per year.

Ah, makes sense. At least with the exedy you can convert from one to the other real easily, so thats always an option down the line when its ready to be rebuilt.
