quest for 12's

alright guys im running an 05 base model with jwt popcharger 5/16 plenum spacer resonated test pipes custom y pipe stock muffler and resonator up rev tuned and a 75 wet shot (sadly its open diff) with 255 sport comp 2's this weekend went to the strip managed to pull out a 13.2 and two 13.3 runs with pretty consistant 2.0 60 foot times.. unfortunately im never happy and want 12's what do u think a reasonable next mod would be to get closer

get a different car

2bad240 Apr 21, 2015 06:51 AM

1 stop spraying. Start working on your na times and practice your launch and also get a LSD. Get the car into the 13s all motor then once you get used to it. Then spray

car ran 13.6 all motor

BakaN20 Apr 21, 2015 06:56 AM

Up your jets. Probably the cheapest option you have. If you are running a window switch, what are your settings?

1slowxj Apr 21, 2015 06:58 AM

thought about it just not sure how happy car would be spraying 100+ i do have avalilbilty to a dyno pretty regularly to tune jets in

turboed350z Apr 21, 2015 08:26 AM

350z was never meant as a drag car. They cant hook/launch worth a damn. Honestly either sell the z and get a different car, or up your spray and lighten your load. Get bigger tires to improve launch.

Traction,street drags and a lsd.

1slowxj Apr 22, 2015 05:44 PM

what are people on drag radials running for 60ft times? im still running stock wheels so biggest i could go would be like a 255 dr not really sure it would be worth the time but im stuck in this car for about another year and a half before payments gone. then go the route travlee went those z06 are monsters

travlee Apr 22, 2015 05:56 PM

do iiiiiiiiiiiiiiittttttt

FOOKhonda Apr 22, 2015 08:34 PM

I think you need to practice your launch, there are plenty of people with boltons and stock running your times and better, I would think with a 75 shot you should be running 13 flat at least, but depends where your located too..

iideadeyeii Apr 23, 2015 05:34 AM

I'm running 275's on stock 18x8 rim

1slowxj Apr 23, 2015 01:52 PM

how are sidewalls with 275's? and i honestly dont think with the current set up i could launch any harder hell im only a tenth away from my buddys gc srt8 to 6 foot and about the same at the big end only i trap 4 mph faster. the killer is i cant spray until 3rd and control wheelspin was thinking about picking up 255 hankook rs'3 on the rear see how that helps

FOOKhonda Apr 23, 2015 03:44 PM

Yeah sounds like you just need better traction then I would say get some dr's or something a lot stickier as a street tire the hankooks are a good choice though, but you may be able to squeeze a bit more out of your tune as well.

pss350z Apr 23, 2015 03:57 PM

I'd go LSD seeing as you're open diff now, then go drag radials after that once both wheels have power to em.

1slowxj Apr 23, 2015 05:52 PM

How are factory lsd's could get entire center section fairly cheap if is worth while? I do need to get back on dyno when i spray the engine bogs first then takes off see if i can get that worked out have a fairly hefty fuel jet im thinking my need to downsize
