Oil Pressure Gauge at 120+
Hello,
Just noticed that my Oil Pressure Gauge suddenly jumped up to 120+ psi today (or maybe a few days but just noticed it today). When I turn the car to "ACC ON" it's sits at 75psi, but as soon as I turn on the engine it jumps up immediately to 120+psi. I suspect the OPSU but just wanted to check your opinions.
In case it is the OPSU, is this the correct part# 25070-CD00A?

nah, never took the dash apart whatsoever... quick question though... isn't the oil PSU gauge supposed to remain at 0 when engine is turned off (or key on ACC position)?

I don't know if the gauges have power or not with the key in the acc position. Look at the temp gauge with the engine warm, and that will tell you. But, if one side of the gauge is powered, and the other side has ground, the gauge will read full scale. That's about all I can offer - don't have the service manual, but that's probably your next step.

My gauge went out back in the day and it pegged at 120. The sending unit is notorious for going out. I think I paid $60 for a new one from CourtesyParts. Remove your old one and install your new one during an oil change.
Remember, the sending unit takes 11 ft*lbs of torque ... many people, myself included, have ruined the upper oil pan by over-torque'ing and shattering that fitting.

I am experiencing this as well but mine has been stuck at 120+ for a few weeks when the engine is on. It goes to 0 when the engine is off. Is it a bad sensor?
