P0430 SES light during move
Hey guys!
Driving a 2006 350z from north carolina to colorado. Going up and down the mountains along the way my SES light illuminated. I performed the self test with the blinking lights and I received P0430 code. I know this has alot to due with oxygen and exhaust due to my research on it. My question is could this fault throw while I'm going up and down the mountains that have less O2 on top and more on the bottom so its tricking the car? Also is this a safe code to finish the drive on, or should I reset it and see if it kicks back on? Thanks! |
Definitely just clear the code and see if it comes back. You should be safe to finish the drive that code isnt a huge deal. If it comes back it may be your o2 sensors fouling or your cats clogging.

I'd have it scanned first (inherent) to confirm it's 0430 and yea, see if it comes back - Its my speculation that it will. It's not like you were at sea level one day and now at elevation - the car had time to acclimate.
where in denver are you at? |
Thanks!
I reset the code myself and continued the drive. After 1300 more miles I safely made it to denver without it kicking back on. (About halfway there another SES code illuminated scaring me, P0455. after some quick research on the side of.the road I hopped out and tightend my gas cap) I'm still worried its going to turn back on that it wasnt a false error because like you said the car did have some time to accumulate but I just wanted to get here instead of being stuck somewhere along the way. I just moved to Thornton. Little bit north. I got in last night before this snow storm hit so today's my first day in town! I only moved with what I could fit in my Z, so not much lol. |
How did you reset the code yourself. My 08 with 35K miles just threw the code. I also understand you can run additives to help clear it.

Either buy a OBDII reader/scanner or a tuner and clear the codes.
Or you can do the pedal dance and reset the ECU. https://uprev.com/documentation/Popu...od%20Reset.png |
Thanks
