My mistake was shopping for deals to get parts for less money. The labor installing parts is the significant cost. Doing the job more than once because of a faulty part makes no sense.

Deals always balance against the "you get what you pay for" rule. When my radiator cracked I eBayed an aluminum one. It turned out to be the same thing as Mishimoto without the logo. Love it.
As for things I did wrong. I installed LED turn signals without resistors or dielectric grease. I had to go back in 4-5 times trying to figure it out. As long as you dont mess with your fuel air ratio or electricals it's hard to F up. |
I am going to reiterate on cheap parts. And no I'm not a JDM whore that buys overpriced parts.
Bought cheap-o test pipes ($170 TOP SPEED brand) that required my time + 2 trips to a shop to fix. Also on cheap no-brand intakes which fell apart at the rubber piece where the pipe meets the filter element. These also had a poorly fitting adapter for the PCV hose. Buy a brand that is proud to put their logo on their parts, while being functional and within budget limitation. |
