Default 2004 Nissan 350z auto to manual HELP

I had recently wrecked my 350z and I have an engine with 50k miles and a manual transmission. The damage is to bad to repair and would cost a lot. So I started searching for a 350z with a blown motor or just a shell. I found one which is my exact same year(2004) but only thing is that it’s an automatic transmission. My question is if I can just simply swap my engine and trans into the new body without any problems? Would I have to drill anything, swap my ECU and wire harness, any type of fabrications? Can I swap my ecu instead of messing with the wire harness?

I don’t have the money to buy a newer car as I’m fresh out of high school.

Have you searched the forums here (and elsewhere) for what this involves? Are you performing the work yourself, and do you have the skills and equipment for such a large undertaking?

I applaud your trying to keep a manual transmission vehicle on the road, but I would suggest you perform a few hours of searching and reading up on the extent of this kind of swap, and then decide if it is something you can undertake.

There are plenty of knowledgeable members in this forum who can lend advice, but it would help you, and them, to perform the necessary basic research first.

I am too new to the Z to give you any specific advice on this swap, other than to recommend you spend some hours searching and reading first.

Did I use "first" too much?

Sorry about double posting I tried taking down my first one cause I thought I posted it in the wrong place. I’m new to the forums. And thanks for the link.
