Whiteline diff bush install but still a "clinking' noise??

Hi guys
Two related questions here...
Car is a stock '05 enthusiast with automatic transmission and 47000 miles on the clock
I just installed a Whiteline diff bush kit as my OEM one was shot
There used to be quite a jolt when shifting from park to reverse or drive as well as a "clunk" sound
After the install there is still a "clunk" sound and the car jolts slightly when shifting from park to drive or reverse
It it a lot better than before and the car now lurches slightly upward when selecting drive (with brake pedal depressed) and downward for reverse
Could the clunk be a worn driveshaft universal joint?
I was also a little disappointed when driving the car for the first time after the install
I was expecting a more direct and punchy acceleration with the new bush but he car actually seems a lot smoother now
Anyone else experienced smoother acceleration rather than a "harder" feel after a Whiteline bush install?
Any help would be much appreciated

I'd re-check the torque. May need to be re-tightened after it has settled in.

Do you know which way around you installed the bushings ?
Because iirc their instructions were wrong,if you look at the OEM bushings the thick larger bushing is top and thinner smaller bushing bottom (Whiteline wrote the inverse of that!).

Another thing you can do to reduce clunking (and help with shifting overall) is to replace your transmission mount. Vibra-technics make a very good rubber one, and Torque Solutions make a good polyurethane one.

I have indeed installed the mounts upside down (Doh!)
I followed the instructions that came with the bushing kit (thanks Whiteline, NOT)
Never considered the transmission mount ,the ones you have suggested look great
Will go ahead and get one and install it the same time I reposition the diff bushes

I didn't know that about the Whiteline instructions, but I hope that works! I was thinking if you wanted that extra punch from the back end, a rear diff brace might be what you're looking for. I have the Bell Race Works brace, and it really increased driver feel. (mine is only paired to Energy Suspension bushings on stock VLSD w/Z1 diff cover)

Reversed the diff mount bushes today and it has made a huge difference!
The car is a lot more responsive to throttle input and feels great to drive
The "clunking" when changing gear has almost gone as well
Will look into a diff brace also as you have suggested

I have the Bell diff brace too on my Kaaz 1.5 diff, plus the Z1 subframe bushings, Torque Solutions gearbox mount and Vibra Technics engine mounts (road). The only thing I get is the nasty clunking from the Kaaz :o (which is normal).
Sorting out the drive-line mounts really does improve the quality of the drive.
