Catch Can

Hello,

Does anyone have administration tuning catch can and what your thoughts about it? Also, do you guys know any other good catch can for VQ35HR?

Thanks.

Going off of your other post, while it is a nice piece, you really don't need catch cans unless you are experiencing abnormal amounts of blow-by or are going forced induction. The admin intakes do not come with the inlets to route the pcv system back into the pipes as the stock intakes do. So going off of the picture from your link, I'm not sure where those two extra hoses are leading to unless they added inlets.

I did research on some catch cans at one point, it's a pretty simple concept, but you will want to make sure it is properly baffled, and it should be a closed system, no crank-case filter, if it is also being routed back to the intake. Check out 'Saikou Michi,' a bit pricey but appear to be a high quality piece.

This is a pretty nice piece if you want something with no breathers:

Catch cans are a very simple concept. It's a can that catches your oil (that would otherwise get sucked up into the intake) so that the intake air is just that, air, not oil.

You can get fancy stuff but it all does the same job. A $30 amazon piece will accomplish the same job as a $200 unit. Yes, some are baffled, have more ports, have more bling but in essence they all do the same thing.

I think of a catch can as a MUST in VQ engines.
