if you just bought the car, do it yourself in your garage. it is 13 years old and no telling if it has ever been changed

Any decent shop can do it, if you don't have the capability to get under the car yourself. If you're smart, bring your own oil: Redline MT85 for the gearbox (3 qts.) and Redline 75W-90 for the differential (2 qts.).

Interesting.... I'm a long time supporter of Redline MT-85 BUT....

Recently had Z Car Garage do a fluids swap on the '07 ZR that I bought/sold. I was talking to Josh, the lead tech there when he was pumping in what looked like Redline (the drum was labeled as such) and he noted that they've gone back to Nissan "OEM GL-4" due to some complaints about the MT-85 being "notchy".

Didn't go into any detail about it, just took him at his word. Next time I talk to he or Rob, will ask about what precip'd that change back. I've had MT-85 in my car for a couple of years and maybe 3k miles and have experienced no issues. (Heretofore, Redline MT-85 is/was the only aftermarket GL-4 with the necessary friction modifiers for 6MT Nissans). Now I'm curious.

But on the original topic.... stick with a GL-4 as allegedly, Nissan trannies don't like GL-5.
