Echoing my sentiments from another thread..... Only car guys get excited about TUBES. Especially the curvy ones with excellent anodizing. Laff....

sorry I'm a bit out of date on this post so here's a catch up

the downdraught type setup with the BMW M5 V10 throttle bodies wouldn't work just not enough space so I'm going with a similar setup to my current one but using the BMW throttle bodies and a CNC machined manifold instead of the welded tubular one
The new manifold will be made from a 3"x3"x16" block of ally

it's going to take me about another 15 hours to finish machining the manifold

Just curious how much would it take for you to duplicate this?

parts wise it's not expensive about £350 for all of the materials including the used BMW throttle bodies my ecu was about £1400 the real cost is in the labour
by the time I finish and make the new custom throttle servo it will probably be 100 hours of my time in the US you have other options like the obx Throttle bodies if I imported them to the uk they would double in cost due to import duty and delivery

This. They already make cheap ITB's for around $1200

Thought I'd update this post as it's a few weeks behind the ports are all cut

and I've made up spacers to change the port shape from the oval bmw to round nissan

and machined pockets into the manifold for the mounting bolts as the clashed with the throttle body mounting bolts

Next little update for you, the manifold is finished the ports are smoothed I've sorted out the mountings machined the shafts the linkages mount on and new linkages and machined an adapter to mount the servo

still more work to do yet

This is awesome! What filament did you print the Velocity stacks with? I would think PLA would melt too easy.
Looks like if you slow down your jerk and acceleration on the printer they would smooth out some for you as well.

sorry for the late reply I've been busy
the previous stacks were printed in abs and the reason I printed them with a course finish was because I coated them in a high temperature resin to protect them when I get the new throttle bodies on (which might be this weekend ) I will probably print them in a carbon fiber filament.

Andy you mentioned when you went away from the Triumph 675 triples that you weren't happy with their mounting. Could you please clarify this? Was it because there was very little lower inlet tube casting for the joining hoses to hold onto....in other words did they tend to fall off? Reason I ask is I'm considering using them on my Honda V6 race car.

Sorry for not updating this thread these fitted ok but I had serious clearance issues which would have involved cutting the hood and I wasn't willing to do it
at about the same time I got a very good deal on a set of obx throttle bodies so went with them instead
Here is my Thread on the 350z uk site if you're interested

A 2 year old link was left to Sasha Anis' race car on the link op left above. Sasha's version of a cold air setup for the itb's. The problem with this is one can have itb's, 6 at 57mm each as opposed to one 75mm but when they have to pull air through these long, restrictive tubes, what good are they and by they I mean the itb's?
The article reads that "...the experimental larger 57mm throttles have reduced peak power from 420 wheel horsepower to 385 wheel horsepower."
That sucks. Probably would be better off without these and vent the hood. I'd give these things a go if I stay n.a. + n2o but the only way to this it right is a sealed air box venting to a hood scoop.

I read the whole link https://www.350z-uk.com/topic/120512...rottle-bodies/
as well as this one; https://frontstreet.media/2016/08/10...s-nissan-350z/

OP, you've got to build a box around these itb's, something to seal up against the perimeter of the lower collector, sealed up to the hood and then a cowl induction or hood scoop for a positive pressure, cold-air ram-air deal. Think old muscle car. The photo below has no restrictions at all.

The iat's will be the worst with an itb setup as they're pulling air from the highest point in the bay. Without my airbox and cold air scoop sealing off the hot air from the bay, my short air intake's iat's went nutz and they went up upon hard acceleration. Sealing the filter 100% made a massive difference. Cruising iat's are at ambient and at idle, very slowly tick up.
I've posted pics of my setup too many times already but f it, here it is again and a link to my thread which has a lot of t&t regarding this and other issues. Just look for the appropriate photos. What I've done is totally different from what you've got to do but the concept is the same.
