Smile diy individual throttle bodies

I started this in january as I was bored with my rear mount turbo setup
the plan was to make as much as possible myself to keep costs down and because I enjoy it.

so first off I made a manifold to mount onto the inlet manifold replacing the inlet plenum

then I modified 2 sets of triumph triple throttle bodies spacing them to suit and boring out the restrictive shroud around the injector

and fitted them to the manifold

then came the throttle linkage which was a lot of trial an error

I then modified a standard 350 throttle body to act as a servo to operate the throttle bodies

I then designed and printed some velocity stacks to suit again a lot of trial and error but these were the final version

and this is the setup as it is today I'm still tuning it but it's very driveable and sounds fantastic.

there was a lot more work involved than I've detailed here if you're interested here's the link to the build thread.

No idea what sort of power it's making as I'm still tuning it on the road but it feels good and sounds awesome I've also just installed a windows 10 tablet in the car to make tuning a little easier

Good stuff!

Does your ECU allow for TB curve tuning (Haltech does a little bit). Figured the geometry is very weird now.

yes I have a Link G4+ plugin ecu it lets me set the throttle position based on the accelerator position and RPM and a million and one other things that I just don't understand yet.

This is rock solid innovation!

Was looking at ITB as an alternative induction sys to replace the failing carbs on my 240Z (just out of curiosity) and then your post came up. Amazing fab skills.

In for dyno!

would be easier to do on a 240Z more options for differant throttle bodies also much easier manifold and linkage and no DBW to worry about
Go on do it you know you want to

If you are taking requests I'd like a video with that music screaming when you get everything ironed out...

Well, of course I WANT to...

...what red blooded and serious car enthusiast wouldn't get off on opening the hood when this lay beneath it!? Laff....

But in all honesty, even if I had the fab chops to do it, there are myriad existing solutions for L-series Datsun motors (like the above) that I'd explore before embarking on such a project. At least that's what I THINK... since I don't have the fab skills. Hahahaha.

I admit it.... I'm an off-the-shelf kinda guy. But, it's in correctly selecting and properly executing said off-the-shelf solutions for the intended purpose that I always espouse. You know.... "No .500 inch, 310-deg cams on a street driven mosheen lacking a set of triple-45s and 4.56s out back", that sorta thing.

So now that my ITB setup is all working well I've decided to start again due to some minor issues that the current setup wont let me change this change involves differant throttle bodies BMW M5 V10 ones to be exact and a new layout the throttle bodies were delivered today and this is the type of layout I'm hoping to use.

I'll update when I have some progress.
