It's more of a drilling than welding actually. Example (not mine) Name: IMG_0880_zps671ab887.jpg

We use the same cable for most of the 2JZ swap here.

NOLAGG: I will ask for that cable for you this week.

Back from the dead.

I can't say when it will be done. Maybe in a week, month or another year. But we are getting there.

I'm using the CD trans with a custom adaptor, VQ clutch and 2JZ flywheel + flexplate.

You should double check that, pictures can be deceiving but it appears to be 2" deep max.

Can't wait for the videos of this thing running and roasting tires!

Last minute addition.

After starting the car this week, will install Titan 272 cams and BC springs before tuning.

This hopefully should get me to low 600whp on pump gas.

Just received this:

Today will start the car. If everything goes as plan, then will install the cams next week before tuning.

I can't believe 4 years of waiting is about to end soon.

BTW, I love the new engine swap sub forum.

We got busy fixing some small things here and there. Too many small thing that wasted our time because the stupid old shop used the wrong bolts.

W‏e might‏ start it tonight.

I installed the Speedhut tach gauge. It was a PITA! I'm not sure if everyone removed the silver plastic frame inside the cluster or not!! Will redo it again tonight. I forgot to install the push button.

Also the tranny needs to be shortened more. About an inch or so. We still have room since the last shop didn't shortened it enough.

Will take pics today. we have been spending about 6-8h a day for the last 3days trying to finish it up.

update,

99% wired up and everything was checked engine/wiring wise and so we started cranking and it was about to start before we discover a fuel leak from the tank. Stupid old shop fwkd the screws. It was around 6am, so we called it a day. Later tonight with new screws and an O ring and we will fire that biach.

Couple of pics I took last night before I started working on the shifter. I'm 90% happy with the shifter location for now. Will try to remember to take pics for it tonight.

Rear mounted battery:

Speedhut tachometer gauge installed:

It's aliiiiiiiiiiiive

The car is running. It took a lot of tries, but finally started.

We let it idle for about 20minutes. There was a couple of vacuum and oil leaks. We will take the engine and transmission out since there was a leak from the FW bolts and need to check the FW spacer since there was a slight vibration. And also there is a noise coming from the pulleys area and will check it. (Second video)

The Haltech manager really spoiled me. The AEM tuner feels like working on Windows98.
