Automatic LS3's?
 

Hi guys quick question...

I have a 2004 Z Auto, and the miles are beginning to get high on it. I really love my car and would like to update the engine with an LS3. My father and I want to take it on as little project. Thing is, I haven't been able to find much information on LS3 auto's...Does the adapter plate they make for the 6speed tranny match the automatic as well? Or do I need to get myself an LS3 6spd auto trans to go along with the motor? If that is the case does the LS3 automatic bolt into the Z, or will there need to be modification done?

Edit: So I found out the 4L80E trans can work with the LS3. Would the LS3 computer be able to run this? What would be needed to us these two?

Any chevy trans will bolt up to it. The 4l80 is a big trans but the ls3 cpu should be able to run it. Just talk to your local ls tuner and he will be able to help you.
