Look what I've just installed

It's a solid brashed aluminum console replacement with shift gate and momo stick. Plus aluminum trim on handbrake.

My buddy works in the shop and did for me for reasonable price. Anybody willing to buy?

Thank you for the pics!! Just not for me :)

Ooh, can I just get the shift gate?

Rock Dec 12, 2002 02:24 PM

Nice Photo Chop. I like the shift gate also. But the color of the dash is not my taste.

yeah thats a photoshop... your not trying to fool anyone, I get a bit suspicious when someone tries to sell something in a picture that is fake...

zPilott Dec 12, 2002 03:02 PM

Yeah, the picture is faked, but I might be interested in the shift gate, if it was cheap enough that I wouldn't feel bad taking it out if I did like it (or if I got to check it on someone else's Z)

I like that aluminum shift gate!! Ala Ferrari:D :p

nosuchsol Dec 12, 2002 06:18 PM

Oh man... shiftgates are a pain! My buddys now-sold 'rossa had a shift gate. Very different driving skills necessary... lol. Not to mention that 1st gear was down and left.

Vlad Dec 13, 2002 05:00 AM

Yeah guys, you got me. 30 minutes of work for nothing :D
Of course I didn't have intention to sell. Just wanted to see what the demand would be.

Now it's quite clear that at least shift gate is thing to produse. I really don't see what so difficult about making it? If I had a shop it's an couple hours of CAD drawing, piece of aluminum, 6 rivets, and then some day or so for final fitting. And then you could sell it for what? 100 - 150 let's say?

Yep, that's an original Ferrary shift gate cut. I just replaced that aluminum ball they usually have with Momo.

And somehow I'm pretty sure that there are no problems with shifting in Ferrary. You know what those guys sayin - We are here to race, and then we produse some street cars to cover expences... Why would they go for look without performance?

Vlad Dec 13, 2002 05:02 AM

I have to try cf finish now... it was quite easy to simulate brushed aluminum, so I did it first

rouxeny Dec 13, 2002 03:20 PM

Dude, no offense, but it's F-E-R-R-A-R-I

Love MOMO shift stick....
and it will be cool if we could get MOMO steering wheels as a option like in Japan,
MOMO is just the best...
But their price are....
Well....
If i could,
i would get a Touring,
with MOMO steering wheels, shift stick,
BBS or OZ rims,
Brembo brakes (of course not OEM ones)
Semi-slick Tires,
and some CIA and Exhaust...
what a perfect Z.....

Donald Dec 13, 2002 03:24 PM

BTW,
the hand brake is aweful.....

westpak Dec 13, 2002 04:31 PM

I haven't driven one but it seems that it would be more of a pain to shift having to get int the gates exactly, I would think that fast shifting would be tough if you don't hit the gate right on.
