I think i twisted my chassy

Today i jacked up my car but i jacked it by one side both ends front ansd back at the same time. The front was slightly a little higher. I started looking at the test pipes but i look and said to my self let me pay some one. So when I lower the jack and take it off i look at my car and the tire is not at the same distance from the fender as it use to be, it looked a little high. I went to the other side and looked at it and noticed their was a difference on both sides about a 1/2 inch of difference. So I tell my self good F****** job you just F***** up your car. So i start it up and take it for a long drive so see if maybe it would fix i take some speed bumps and holes and all that and when i get home it looks like ti got fixed but not sure my drive way is a little crooked so i will have to put it on a plain street. Has this happen to anyone. Can this be fixed. Please help Im thinking about taking it into nissan and see what they tell me.

WOW. So is there a way to ge tit back. Im interested!

Usually a simple forward, stop, reverse, stop with abrupt stops will settle the suspension back to normal.

the doors are best way to tell if youve bent the chassis

if they open and close as they use to, and dont snag the lock pin then you're fine

SnakeBitten 10-22-2005 05:16 PM

If thats all it took to twist a Z's chassis it would be sad.

Whe you jacked up the car, the shocks and springs were extended, causing the slight increase in height. Like said before, drive the car. It will settle back down.

Yea i think it got back to normal i hope becouse if not it will be a pain in the a** to get it back to factory or close to it. The thing is that the front staid normal but the back was the one that was off

heh; the frame is way stronger than that. otherwise every time you went up on a curb or something the frame would bend.

Hydroplaned after being cut off by a truck, slammed a wall front and then spun around and hit it in the back. ****ing $14,000.00 later it is better than new.
