Well me and Acree are swapping interiors. I decided to work on it today.

Its not easy! I injured myself early on and it has slowed me down all day.
I cant seem to get the top part of the dash off, specially near the steering column. Any hints on how to get the center console out? how about the upper passenger side and the side vents and the intake vent in the very front.

Here are some pics:

you mean inside the dash? sure, ill take some when i get back to it and when theres sunlight.

the interior wieghs quite a bit, maybe 40lbs plus you gotta add in the weight of the door panels, which are heavy as hell.

What is the bar above the rear console in the fifth picture (where you can see your sub). It looks like a control arm with a cup holder on the end of it. Is that a camera mount or something. You can't see it in any other pictures though. Btw what color is Acree's interior? You might want to look in the service manual on how to get the dash out. I'm sure it's in there. Oh and I like the SAHS tassel hanging off of your mirror, kinda kiddie though :p

Cux350z 03-24-2006 05:22 PM

^how the heck did you know it was a SAHS tassle?

yeah its a camera mount, im about to trash it. I actually made it out of the rear wiper and some u bolts. Held well until i bent the aluminum when putting 4 255 mm tires in the car.

Cux350z 03-24-2006 05:24 PM

o, and acree's interior is BLACK! hot.

Im going to venture and say that all the interior pieces weigh over 80lb!

Wow you guys would be the first that I know of good luck. I recentely got my hands on the ZR ventilated leather on my coupe and so far I don't know if anyone else has done that.

Rickdogg 03-24-2006 05:24 PM

Leave it stripped, corner balance it and take it to the track. You will never want to put your interior back :icon39:

Does your interior rattle like crazy now that you have no dash?
