Don't get the PIAA bulbs w/ 1 white and 1 blue LED...I got pulled over twice for those. I had to switch them out for the PIAA w/ 2 white LEDs.

you dont need to put LED's for your license plate light...you can just use
5W wedge bulbs and it comes in all kinds of colors...i have them it looks nice and pretty bright...

you can fit 921's though. i have.. though the right side i had to argue with 50 times, because the bulb kept popping out into the headlight :( that was the fault of the socket/headlight and the way they wouldn't line up though

white LEDs are fine. no rules about a "white" bulb being off white.

you get into trouble if its a white/blue piaa. have to be sure its white/white.

The Lexus license plate lights are LEDs permanently mounted on to a circuit board and not replaceable/removable (at least not easily. I've got an '06 GS430 and was bored one day and tried to take them out) They are white with a blueish tint, same as all of the interior lights. I bought a set of super-white LEDs from superbrightleds.com for my Z and the color is very close to the Lexus LEDs.

But there have been lots of threads about them because they burn out quickly.
