For White LED's should I...
use these:
part # RL5-W3030 ??? or should I use these: part # RL5-W6030 ??? the first one is the 3000 intensity mcd and the second one is the 6000 intensity mcd. Depending upon which ones (LED's) I need, what size resistors do I need to get from RatShack? I have been trying to determine what I should do based on Skidazzle's post, when he did his. His LED's are orange and of different intensity so I am somewhat confused! (what else is new?) Here is the link to his post: Skidazzle's LED post I have decided that I only want them to come on (and stay on) when I put on my headlights. I do not want them to blink. I appreciate all the help in advance! thanks wwwooooooofffffffffffffffff |
Oh, and btw -
I plan on putting these in the JDM smoked reflectors that I purchased from a member of this site recently. Any and all help is very much appreciated! So after these LED side markers are finished I will be removing the front bumber to put these on, and to install my new set of Sports Horns and the Injen CAI (hopefully connected to my Pop Charger!) Anything else need to go in/on when the bumber is off? |
1) i dont like the white leds in the smoked lenses... thats just a persional opinion.. i just made myself a pair with orange leds.
2) the 6030 is 2x as bright as the 3030 with the same angle output. i am pretty sure i used the 3030 (3000MCD) leds in the ones i did for people. i like the orange ones better at 4000mcd (the perfect output) 3) you need 1/4 or 1/2 watt 470ohm resistors. does not matter either way, as the heat generated is well below those... they come in packs or 5 for $.99. you only need 1 pack. |
how much light will the 3030 throw out?
you have the 4030 which is brighter than the 3030's. Are the 6030's going to be TOO BRIGHT? I just want to make sure they are bright enough but not too bright to ruin everything else! I am also wondering if the 3030's wont be bright enough. Thanks for the help. Oh yeah, I personally like the white better. When they go through the smoked jdm's I figure they will look good and have the orange tint to them from the reflector. |
like i said, i used the 3030 for ppl who wanted white leds. i dont like white (doesnt matter 3030 or 6030)... i think 6030 will be too bright... 3030 is fine.
