Just got them!! Soo damn excited. All I have is my crappy phone camera to take pics though.

Review: Excellent look and feel for the leather. The latch feels a 'bit' loose. You can jiggle it even when it's sitting down flat, because it's not tight. Not an issue really, especially since nobody in the 'back' will be able to see or mess with it. And... it's not that big of a deal anyway.
The seat acts just like my old recaros in my Integra Type R, when it comes to turning the knob for seating positions.
The plastic deisgn on the back looks awesome. It's solid in the middle, but the two 'wing' peices are loose a little. They're not 'solid', and move a little when you push on them.
As far as that, they're really nice seats!! No complaints really. Can't wait to get them in the car!

Oh, the rails I got are Recaro, but they said the actual thing the rail bolts to that then bolts to the floor of the car is just a machine shop welded thing. It's crude metal work, and spray painted black, but I don't think it'll be very visible anyway. Not a big problem for me. I would have preffered if they had been grinded down on the edges a bit to make them look more aestheticly appeasing, but then I probably never see them once they're in the car so screw it.

I love those, how much did you pay for them if you don't mind me asking?

slowxturtle 10-19-2007 03:15 PM

Very nice.

Around $1400 plus rails, etc.
My freind bought them for me. He buys a lot of stuff for people down here, so I don't doubt he gets decent prices. I've seen them listed for around $1700.

slowxturtle 10-20-2007 08:16 PM

$1400 each?

I just inspected the seats again, because I read on the website that the backing isn't made from Plastic, but from a sort of kevlar, carbon, fibreglass mix.

It feels like plastic and has a gritty texture applied to it. From the sides that show it has the texture, but under the seat it is just smooth, and looks sort of like fibreglass like maybe a 'marble' appearance.

Who know's!, it may be plastic, but I hope it isn't.
I hope it's some sort of exotic material for the money I paid. Lol.

Oh and it's not 'leather' it's called 'ambla'. Some sort of vinyl infused with some anti-bacteria thing.

I got the Tommy Kiara shift knob :icon38:
Just haven't installed it yet. These pics were taken before the car was taken to the guy putting in the stereo (and shift knob).

Depends on your liking.

These are pretty firm, and not too tight fitting - just right for me (I'm about 180-190/5'.11"), but you definitely feel well supported. The bolsters feel very strong. There isn't a lot of cushioning, but because of the seat contours to your body well, it's not uncomfortable.

Another guy at the garage said he felt a bit 'high' in them. I don't share that view, and he isn't much if anything, taller than me.

If that was an issue though, I guess people can buy the lower seat brackets.

By the way, these are all pre-driven opinions. I haven't been in the seats for more than a couple minutes at a time. I think they'll be good over a long period of time, but as with most things... if they are good I'll probably never take the time to praise it. If they're bad though, I'll be making a fuss on here for sure. So you'll know.

Seats look good, how much do they weigh? Id like to hear your review after you spend more time in them.

Honestly. By themself (no rail or support bracket), it's pretty light, but with the rail and support it's kinda heavy. They sent a metal work shop custom built bracket, because apparently the RECARO brakcets are weak. I used recaro rails, but the supports are a bit heavy, I guess cause they're pretty crude.
I can lift it without much effort. I know that's VERY unspecific, but I've chcked quickly online, and don't see a specified wieght, and I don't have anything to judge it by.

Yea, I'll be sure to give a better review once in them for a good while.

Which retailer did you buy them from?

Very nice! I like.
