Anyone know if the stock RX-8 seat will fit Z or not?
I saw one today at the mall and I love it, I think thats the best looking stock seats out there, 10 times better then Z's stock seats. I am thinking about getting some used one from RX-8 fourm, anyone done it before? or anyone know if it will work on Z?

I love the RX-8's interior, but why switch the Z's stock seats for the 8's? They're both nice IMO.
Well to answer your question, I don't see why checking out an RX-8 forum would hurt.

The only reason I could think of for someone to go with the rx8 seats would be if you're like 6' 8" and need an extra inch of legroom (b/c the rx8 seats are so much shallower)...

The reason why is because I want to install some aftermarket leather seats on my car and the other day at the mall I saw that RX-8 with stock leather seat and I really like the design and plus I think it might be cheaper this way. I think this looks better then stock Z seat, what do you guys think?

Is it the headrest area that you like better than the Z's? I do agree it looks a bit cooler, but to me, it's all the same (minus the 2-colour scheme) other than the headrests.
I'm trying to picture it inside a Z, would look kinda interesting for sure. Thing i didn't like about those seats is the horizontal striped material used on the black leather areas.

Yup, i agree with you there. I remember back when the RX-8 was first coming into the media... i saw pictures of the japanese models being shown with the red/black, yellow/black, and blue/black interiors to match the body colour. Of course those were probably just pre-production photos and never made it to the actual cars now.
Yeah, just checked, even mazda japan only has the red/black and brown/black seats for options. It doesn't even have yellow as an exterior colour anymore.

RX8 seats looks good, but take note that the little triangular hole in the head restraint actually takes the shape of their rotary engine. Cool, but not sure if it'll be appropriate in anywhere else but a Mazda. However, if you are willing to overlook that, it'll still be a cool seat in any car.

if i were you. and you wanted to go through with that, i would take out the center plastic ( rotary ) peice and have some1 either sew it circular or cover it all up.
wouldnt want the Z guys to make fun of your Rotary Z lol

WTF!? For the amount you would pay for those seats put in a Z, you could either custom tailor your current seats or buy some very nice after market seats. This has to be one of the dumbest ideas Ive read on this forum next to putting 22's on a Z.
If you like the seats that much I would sell your Z and buy a Rx-8.
