Cusco Roll Cage install tips?
OK guys, don't start with the BS about safety issues w/ it. I got it because i wanted it, simple as that
Now w/ that said, for those of you that have installed it, is it necessary to remove all the plastic paneling behind the seats? I read the "do it yourself thread" on it and supratt said he had to, but then another guy said he didn't. Also do any of you guys have any tips you could share to make the install less of a headache. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Chris

When I put mine in, I didn't remove all the plastic because honestly I didn't find it necessary. It might not be a bad idea though to prevent any scratches from when you put the main hoop in. The only thing I ended up removing though, was the center console and the seats. It was pretty easy as far as getting the bars inside the car. The hard part was getting the damn thing to line up. Just make sure you have everything in before you start bolting in place. PM if you have any questions bro.

no need to take any plastic panels off at all!
I installed mines not taking off anything.
I simply cut the 2 back pieces for the bars to go trough them.
follow these steps.
1-put in main hoop in, make sure to take out the foam pieces and under carpeting.
2-put in side pieces, dont bolt down or insert them in place
3-attach the windshield piece, make sure you cut the carpet and took the stirafoam out for it to sit nicely in place. lously bolt it in. if you did it correctly you would have not needed to take your visors out.
4-attach the back 2 pices, I cut the bottom half of the plastic and its not noticable at all.
5- everything is in and you like the position then start bolting it down.

I got it in Adam . I still have to do the rear pieces, but everything else looks good. I did however mess up a little. When i was putting in the front bars i must have knocked the main hoop off of center so now everything is off about a 1/2". Now my passenger side door arm rest barely bumps the main hoop when shutting.
A side note, 06+ owners may need to be notified of that the seatbelts will be virtually unusable (at least this is the case w/ mine). The newer Z's have a extra extended guide which interferes with the main hoop. In order to remedy this you have to take the seat belt off and remove that guide. I'll post some pics this evening.

I'll have to post a pic when i get home. It looks like it is just a rubber arm that helps bring the seat belt out towards the front of the car to help make it easier to reach. Kind of hard to explain.
BTW check your pm
